To make good use of your time, after ASD, you should walk east untill you hit columbus circle, then head down broadway.
It'll take you to times square. A little further down you'll hit Macy's
Then, when you get to 34th street, head east, until you hit the empire state building. Go up if you want.
Then walk north along 5th avenue until you hit FAO Schwartz (play with the toys, you know you want to) and the apple store.
Then walk into central park, meander a while, then head back towards columbus circle.

After that, walk up Broadway, until you hit 70th street. Walk into Sabon (soap shop) and wash your hands. (no really)
Then get some hot dogs at gray's Papaya. Then walk up Columbus, about 2-3 blocks, enter Jacques Torres and get some hot chocolate for dessert. Now turn around and walk back down columbus and back to the law school to get back to where you started (if you want)

Does this bother anyone else? Not only does Fordham refuse to provide contraception in their health care plans, but they are doing everything they can to delay implementation of the new health care law... Kinda makes me question the values of the school.
Even though I vehemently disagree with Fordham on this one, I think it shows that Fordham stands up for with its values.
Fordham is very upfront about being a Jesuit university and that it adheres to Catholic values. (The president of the university is, and always has been, a Jesuit priest). However, they're not in your face about it and if you hadn't read the article, you'd never know about this.

Besides, it's not like campus is in the middle of nowhere.
As a matter of fact, there's a women's center and abortion clinic 1 blocks from the law school, where you can get all the birth control you need.

Also, Forham law has the following student group:

Law Students for Reproductive Justice
We started LSRJ because we believe that individuals, not governments, have the right to make decisions about their reproductive health. Every person, regardless of gender, race, class, or ethnicity, has the right to choose whether or not to have sex, use contraception, or have a child. Our projects include brownbags with reproductive rights activists, an ongoing escort program in partnership with Planned Parenthood of New York City, a research partnership with local pro-choice legal organizations, and internship opportunities.

Just took a quick glance at lakers3peat acceptance email....for a split second I saw that it was addressed to me and subsequently had a day dream I was attending ASW and making a side trip to Dylan's Candy Store and waiting in line for an 1hr at Serendipity for Forbidden Broadway Sundaes :)

I never understood the fascination with Serendipity's.
Although, it's the only place I've ever been where a waiter told me that what I ordered doesn't taste good and recommended something else (which was pretty damn good)

Word of caution - if you are anything like me this might make you hate NY. The first time I was here we spent two nights in a hotel in times square and I walked out of my the hotel once and was so annoyed with the crowds, slow walkers and bright lights that I went straight back to the hotel. Macy's produced a similar result as it was so crowded it was nearly impossible just to shove my way out and escape. I would definitely recommend walking around the village instead. I have never returned to times square or macy's after my initial encounters.

My first apartment was on 37th & 6th. People back home were amazed that I lived between times square and the empire state building, but, damn that sucked.

Thanks for the info. I'll be getting into NYC early Thursday so I may do all this then since Friday night I'm taking the gf to see Phantom of the Opera for her b-day.

Second complete date yesterday (1/9, 1/30), anyone know whether this is an indication I will hear a decision soon?

I apologize if this was mentioned earlier in the thread.

I think we all feel this way when living in New York. It just combines all the worst of NYC into one place.

I have a question about the part time program.

Is OCI for part-timers substantively different than OCI for full-timers? ie less employers present, takes place at a different time, do part timers get shunned because of perceived differences in the programs, anything similar

Good question. Anyone on here going to attend, or attending the PT program?

If I'm not mistaken NYgrrl is (was?) a part-timer. I'm sure she'll be around soon :)

I haven't been accepted yet, but, I did have a couple of conversations about OCI for part-time with some of the people in admissions. They say that they hold one OCI and all are welcome to participate, regardless of daytime or nighttime status. The school's stance seems to be that we (the royal we, not including myself... yet :) ) are all Fordham students. Treating the night students like step-kids in the basement does not do the school any favors. They want us all to be successful alumni one day.

So according to their twitter post, the admissions team at Fordham is occupied with setting up for the ASD on Friday. I wonder if that means no more decisions til Monday or later??

Some people dressed up for orientation, it was awkward. Definitely just dress how you normally do.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
