Just got wait listed by American and GW in the same day. Looks like I will not be going to school in D.C.

I feel for you. I just got waitlisted by American today. I'm already on GW's waitlist! Oh, and Georgetown's waitlist (preferred waitlist, FWIW) too.

I believe some merit scholarships have come out already. The admitted students website says that you can expect your awards package by mid-march. I'm assuming their referring to any grants or last minute scholarships.

This is from an email I received late last week in response to my request for information about merit scholarships:

"We are currently considering all admitted students for merit based scholarships and you will be notified via email in the coming weeks if you are chosen to receive an award."

I got an email letting me know that I would be considered for merit scholarships and inviting me to send additional documents. I sent a letter of interest and information on my scholarship offer from UCLA. 168/3.8. Scholarship is for 75K.

Also got the scholarship email today. 20k a year for three years and the email makes no mention of stipulations. Also, I didn't specify an amount in my response to the email. Just that GW was one of my top choices, why it was one of my top choices, and that the high CoL in DC would be a big factor in my choice to or not to attend.

Edit (in light of above post): Additionally, at the time I had no other comparable scholarships (only full at Cardozo and 15k at Fordham).

16k per year, no stipulation...sent in a LOCI and update in response to their scholarship committee email back in january.

hmmm...never got that email requesting information for scholarship. admitted in December. i think my numbers are good enough for some GW cash money. but maybe i'm out of luck?
