Just to reassure you guys, I sent in an email (pretty clumsily worded given my extreme levels of stress) correcting what in retrospect was a "minor error" within a week of going under review and used the word "error" in almost every sentence of the 6 that I wrote. They replied saying that they would add the email to my file as clarification. And I thought I was headed for straight ding. Turns out they actually do care more about the substance of your application than formatting choice/small errors as Dean Rangappa clarifies under "Technical Matters." In short, send an email with the corrections, and breathe easier.

PS - Similar emails to Stanford and Columbia as well, and things worked out pretty well.

Yeah, but if I did the same calc for what % of each class can get Wachtell, I think we both know what the outcome would be.

Any percentage based comparison will be favoring Yale because of the smaller class size. Since we do not know the amount of people in that H class that desired clerkship more than anything else, we cannot really compare the two numbers. (If say, 110 H graduates actually wanted clerkship over firm offers, one might say 104 / 110 is greater than anything Yale can offer. See I can make up numbers as well )

Got a letter from Yale. Looks like a Yale rejection on the same day I finally get a jr1. Oh the irony.

Depends on your school I guess - I was required to snail mail it

omg are we supposed to get dean certificate from even community colleges? I thought it was just degree granting institution?

Also, about a month ago YLS I submitted my app and about a week later they emailed me saying they received my app. Do they send you another email once I go under review?

Stanford it's only degree granting. Yale is any higher education institution you have ever enrolled in as a degree student (For credit).

Okay to clarify here (I called Yale). You only need a Dean's Cert if: you were enrolled in the school as a degree seeking student.

So if you took community college classes over the summer while you were in undergrad or in high school, you don't need the Dean's Cert. If you were in community college seeking your associate's degree, then you do need the dean's cert.

this. i took 2 (of 3) foreign language courses at a cc, and did not submit a dean's cert for said institution. my file went complete just fine. now, as far as my file's current status is concerned...

Most schools call early, and definitely before 5 pm for their work day. Most schools (again, not all) do not call on the weekend. And Yale is fairly open about its admissions process, both on the blog and on twitter..
