Will a $75m scholly at Emory count as leverage for BU?
Speaking of BU...
Krad - ever find out if they are sending out scholarships after acceptance packs?

I reckon the best option would be to attend for the first year, live frugally on say 1 or 2 mil, and then transfer with the remainder of the cash. You should have your pick of schools with that kind of endowment offering.
Unless there are some stipulations on the 75m?

They said that an admitted student may receive a scholarship at any time after their acceptance "due to a variety of factors"... In summary, you may or may not receive one, and it can arrive at any time. They also said that they can't make any commitment to match another school's offer. /derailaboutBU

Same here. Just did, nothing. Called Mom as well and the jerk was 'out' instead of sitting at home staring at the mailbox like me.

People being admitted to Emory with three sixes in their stats? It is truly the end times.
To be fair, End-Of-Times Law is booming right now.
HAHAHA!
congrats on scholly, did you have some soft factors? What is your undergraduate program if you don't mind me asking? URM?
i had a lot of volunteer experience. other than that just a white male in psychology. so i got hooked up. and it's $20k per year. i felt all cool until someone got the $75million offer.

Opened my mail box - saw a large envelope. Opened it. Invite to friend's kid's second birthday party. Two thoughts come to mind...
1. Thats not an emory acceptance letter
2. You're inviting me to his SECOND birthday? Is that even a thing? First birthday I understand. But after that, you're on you're own right?

You have to go to your friends' kids' birthday parties until the kid is old enough to have his own friends.

Well that sucks. Guess I'll hear from my mom in about 2 weeks when it gets overseas.

I ope this means my 167 2.9 will be good enough for an acceptance

Where are the 20K scholarships for kids with a 167? Last year a 166 LSAT got you 20K per year. It seems like they are giving up hope on the 167 median. Maybe not enough applicants to make it happen?

Wouldn't all of this mean Emory would be giving out more $$$ to the 167s?

you are seriously misinformed about basically everything emory-related. but i still wish you the best of luck!
edit: sorry, that's mean. but seriously what y'all shouldn't be doing right now is trying to piece together a narrative of the emory 2011 app cycle when only a few data points have come out. plus, 166 didn't "get" you anything automatically last year, either. at least not according to the people i know here. some got more, some got less.

I might be, so please feel free to fill me in. I am going off LSN from last year. Emory seems to be not sending out as much as last year. By all means please share info showing I am wrong.

What's your location Zeke?
Nothing here in Florida. Applied in early November.
