Mine was under review for the 3rd time, and I got a waitlisted letter in the mail a couple days afterwards.
Tough love in the Midwest -- waitlisted at 3 Midwestern schools! (Kansas, Mizzou, and MSU)

Sent an email today to KU, was changed to under review on 3/2....looked just now....changed to under review, but 3/11....perhaps sending the email caused my status to change.

I had a Why Kansas? letter, so a LOCI should help a lot.

Re: Kansas 2013
First off..... this negative BS that is on here directed towards KU Basketball is ridiculous. If you wanna pull that crap go to a sports forum...not a law school forum. Besides...the KU basketball program is one of the best in the nation regardless of UNI loss.
ANYWAYS.... so I am on the waitlist at KU. I have grown up in KS and have always wanted to go to KU! I am between a 151 - 155 with a 3.56 and tons of great softs. Has anyone had any experience in the past with KU waitlist?

I will likely withdrawal my application from KU here shortly. Husband and I decided that other schools were a better fit for us as a pair. Good luck to all who wait!

Re: Kansas 2013
Does anyone have any information about negotiating scholarship offers at KU? Are they ever willing? What's the average increase? I'm at $12,500 1L, $5000 2L if maintaining a 3.2 GPA. I'm in the process of final decision making and KU is pretty high on my list but the 2L offer and the lack of 3L offer are pretty shoddy so I want to see if they'll consider an increase. Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

I sent an inquiry and was told that I'm waitlisted for a Law Honor Scholarship (which is basically an extra $2500 for 1L) and will be notified on Mary 3rd (seat deposit deadline extended to May 15th). So I'm waiting to see what happens with that...Anyone else want to share their scholarship offers? Just curious if the structures (meaning declining) at KU are similar to mine.

Re: Kansas 2013
i tried negotiating and got the same response.. except i think the dean's honor scholarship is 17,500 instead of 12,500.. so 5,000 extra for 1LAKAlicious wrote:txelle wrote:I'm interested in this as well!AKAlicious wrote:Does anyone have any information about negotiating scholarship offers at KU? Does anyone know how KU compares to UMKC as far as career prospects and education quality in general goes?

I can't speak from a place of great knowledge, but seeing as you've gotten no replies yet, I'll share my opinion. If you go to UMKC and do well there, then you should have options. A friend of mine did that and she's clerking for a state judge at the moment. I think you'll find it's like that at many schools, though. For KS, it probably depends to some degree on where you live. I would assume that a UMKC degree is more acceptable in KC than it is in Wichita. But then again, I don't have any proof to back that up--it's just my opinion. I declined UMKC primarily because they offered me the same amount of $ that KU did. I figured since I'm not fond of living in either KC or Lawrence and the offer was the same, I may as well take the better school.honestabe84 wrote:Does anyone know how KU compares to UMKC as far as career prospects and education quality in general goes?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
