I did contact them. I called about a month ago. Was told to email, which I did and was never returned. I called again and left a message, and I finally got a call back telling me they are out of funds.Compaq1984 wrote:you should contact them... maybe they just figure you will not attend regardless... That's ridiculous. I'm 161, 3.11 here. I'm still waiting for my acceptance...I've called them several times to make sure everything's ok. They keep telling me I'm in committee. If I don't get $$$ from them, I won't even consider it. I've gotten $$$ at MUCH better schools.eberl032 wrote:I did contact them. I called about a month ago. guess it doesnt make much sense... (YP)
a better theory is that they might not want to waste $$$ on a student that seems highly unlikely to attend anyways...
No benefit to the school except that they can give that $$$ to a student with lower numbers who will be more likely to attend if given serious $$$...
OR.. maybe they just dont like you...

If you read up in the thread, someone says they called and they said they were "out" of scholarship money. I was just reinforcing it.Compaq1984 wrote:Touché...lolstatuscheckerssuck wrote:It can't be YP if they were admitted.Compaq1984 wrote:seems like some YPblerg wrote:Admitted 2/24. No $$. 3.6 166

+1...Ive gotten more money from T-1 schools. What gives Suffolk?? I totally would've looked past the ranking, if only some Benjamins would've been thrown my way; hell, I'd have settled for Washingtons...oh well. I'm going to send them an email about some $$$, and if/when they do turn me down, Ill be opening up some room for another individual as well...

Re: Suffolk
If this is true I'm totally screwed.
I knew I wanted to stay local, and the Suffolk was the only school that was 1. local and 2. had a chance of giving me enough $$ for me to go.
I barely applied anywhere else, and nowhere I have a shot at getting enough money to make it worth it.

160/3.6, applied early January.
Admitted via snail mail today - $0.
I was seriously considering Suffolk if I got as much as others did with my numbers in the past.

If there was $$ offered, would it have come in my acceptance packet? I also got a letter today from Financial Aid, asking for a copy of my tax return. Is that the holdup, or did I just get nothing from them?
I was figuring on this being a school that gives me big money. Otherwise, no chance. Like others have said, I'm in with $$ at much better schools.

Just got off the phone with financial aid dept....tuition is going up to $41,000+ next year. They have given me 20,000 per yr. in grant money, plus a minor scholarship - covers about $25,200 total.
Now this makes my decision very tough...

hey everyone. ASD is (this) Friday! Formal wear is required. I'll be there. Who else is going?!
Interesting. How'd you get them to talk numbers with you. I've filled out the FAFSA and Needaccess forms because finaid is extremely important for me. Did they give you the run around when you phoned them to ask about money? I'd like to speak to them about numbers but I thought that they wouldn't have packages ready yet.dp73816 wrote:Just got off the phone with financial aid dept....tuition is going up to $41,000+ next year. Almost everyone in this thread got merit $$$$ in their need-based packet.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
