I don't think that NYU requires the dean's certification before admission... if they do, then I need to do that :O
oh, I guess you need it beforehand if you have disciplinary stuff, right? haha, I got worried there for a sec, but NOW I UNDERSTAND!

They do if you have a record. All my school does is send a note saying "This record is expunged" but they say they require it. But they are reviewing my app right now

I'm still in limbo. I sent in my app in early Sep, and I know that other schools received the Dean's Certification, so hopefully I'll hear from them soon.

Did you also get the "we have received your application" email from them on Tuesday? Or did they skip that and just tell you you were under review?

How long does it normally take to get an email from them acknowledging the application? I applied on 10/26, LSAC sent the report on 10/27, and I have yet to hear anything.

I never got that email. This was an email from the assistant director of admissions

It took me two and a half weeks, but I know there are others on here who certainly had to wait longer than that.

I sent on 9-3 and still haven't gotten an email. I called and was told I was complete but no official notification, yet. I'm not sure if I should be concerned about that or not.

Probably not, given that they told you you were complete.

Right, and I think I should avoid being the girl who emailed to check her app status days after calling to ask the same question. But I'd still like to have written confirmation.

if it makes you feel better, I don't have written confirmation, and haven't called to confirm, and I'm not worried.

If we both end up at NYU, I'll hold you to this.

Ok, but if you get in and I don't, I reserve the right to rescind my offer...

I submitted 10/23, got the app received email on 10/29 and I'm waiting for the complete notification. I've always been under the impression that HYSCCN contact you when they are ready to contact you and typically aren't as prompt as other law schools. I'll talk it FWIW and hope one of them accept me.
