I put 9/1/09, just because I wasn't sure when classes began and I wanted to make sure I was including the first day of class, but I wanted to put a date instead of writing something.sharthree wrote:I had a dream last night that I got in...

NU Law Admissions Twitter:
nulawadmissions "Second week of finals. With warmer weather, flowers blooming and sun shining off the lake, students seem pretty relaxed during exams."
Um, this is not helpful in easing my neuroses...couldn't it say, "Animalcrkrs should be expecting some GOOD NEWS soon...." ???

I've noticed that LSN doesn't have many "attending" marks for NU. I'm really hoping that their yield is unusually low and creates a lot of WL movement...soon.

Been lurking here for a few weeks, but my curiosity got the best of me.
As far as anyone knows, has there been any action off the waitlist since the hold deadline?

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
not sure what you mean by hold deadline....a few people came off of hold and were accepted, a few more than that came off of hold and were rejected, the rest of us went to WL.
As far as I know, no one has gotten off of WL yet.

I also told every other school that has waitlisted me the same thing via LOCI.

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
Hi all, a few questions. Do you think putting an earlier date on the WL response form ups your chances (e.g. we better get this guy before he goes somewhere else) or is it more advantageous to put a later date to improve your odds when the waitlist thins? Also I'm wondering if any current applicants or current/former students at NU can comment on whether they were able to get in without interviewing. I did not interview and am wondering if that is going to play against me since NU tries to interview most of its applicants. Thanks.

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
If they were desperate for people on the WL in the first place then they probably wouldn't be waitlisted. You can see from LSN that they have taken people off the WL in Jul and Aug, but it looks like most of the movement is by Jun.DCDeckard wrote:Hi all, a few questions. Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
I agree with the logic above; also, I'm inclined to think that later the date you put, the more interested you'll appear in wanting to attend. While that isn't the only thing schools look for in selecting people from the waitlist, it seems like a very important component.NayBoer wrote:If they were desperate for people on the WL in the first place then they probably wouldn't be waitlisted. Waitlisted:
167
3.7X
1 Year W/E
Wrote "Until classes begin" on the form regarding how long they should hold my app.
Sent in additional LOCI with form stating that I would pretty much resign from the presidency if they decided to accept me.

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
Does anyone know when the second deposit deadline is for Northwestern and the amount of the deposit? I heard June 1, but could be wrong.
Also, does anyone know what the shortened summer waitlist is? I've seen reference to people from past cycles being put on a shortened summer waitlist ~May 15.

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
Looks like they moved people off of hold generally later last year, as some people went straight from hold to 'shortened summer wl'
http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... =7&t=32816
My guess is there will be a couple of people that get off wl in May, but looking like most will happen in June/July. Ugh. Also looks like anyone left of the WL at a certain point goes onto the shortened summer WL (maybe some people get released??)
I have a thread for deposit deadlines and no one has posted NU's second yet. http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... =7&t=70541
