Received the waitlist letter today, 162/3.8 . This was expected, but still takes the wind out of the sails a bit.

WL via snail mail. That's cool. I'm still excited about W&M, but it's not necessarily a show stopper.
Is it just me...or is anyone able to smell the outside of an envelop and know it's a waitlist?
Anybody?

Haha, definitely. You can do that little smooshing thing with your fingers and tell there's more than one sheet in there ----> WAITLIST.

W&M's ranking makes one think a lot of paranoid t14 people would apply as a safety. Maybe this means possible movement?

Waitlist for me. W&M is definitely my top choice. 159/3.68, in-state. My LSAT screwed me...probably should have gone for extended time as I'm 99% sure I would have qualified. *sigh* Good luck to everyone! And thanks to everyone who withdraws from the list!

yep, i saw the green sheet through the envelope so i immediately thought "maybe that's the seat deposit form" then i regained my senses and thought "waitlist!"thejules wrote:Haha, definitely. haha...I knew when I saw a normal envelope. On LSN, everyone who got accepted said the letter came via priority mail. I was dreading that plain first class envelope for months!Paul Ramone wrote:yep, i saw the green sheet through the envelope so i immediately thought "maybe that's the seat deposit form" then i regained my senses and thought "waitlist!"thejules wrote:Haha, definitely. what a weird, weird admissions process. looking at the LSN graph, the WL nearly everyone south of a 165/166 LSAT, regardless of your GPA

Re: The Official 2009 William and Mary Waitlist
Yeah, it's a little disconcerting to look at the LSN graph and see more yellow dots than red ones don't you think? I'm pretty sure putting almost everyone on the wait list is only weakening our chances of getting a seat. Bummer. Like many I'm still holding out hope though! A big THANK YOU to anyone who withdraws!Paul Ramone wrote:what a weird, weird admissions process. looking at the LSN graph, the WL nearly everyone south of a 165/166 LSAT, regardless of your GPA

I have been waitlisted also. I guess I thought I might get turned down since I got it so late but I am pretty dissapointed. 3.3/167.

Re: The Official 2009 William and Mary Waitlist
After hearing back from my other top choice (stupid rejection), William & Mary is officially my first choice and I'm on the WL (like everyone else). I just wanted to thank everyone who decides to pull their name from the WL, or even better decides to attend law school someplace else. I know it doesn't assure any one of us a seat but it's definitely thoughtful and much appreciated. If by chance a miracle should occur and I am accepted, you all will be my heroes!
To those of you in the same boat that I'm in...I feel your pain. Good luck!

Just withdrew with 66k fellowship (am opting to work one more year before heading to law school). Good luck to everyone on the WL!

Re: The Official 2009 William and Mary Waitlist
Does anybody know (a) what W&M's "usual" waitlist size and/or movement is each year?
(b) what their avg. need-based grants are.
I am 37, EFC=0, $1500 in te bank, made $8000 last year while in school.
Do they give out, say, $3000/yr in grants for those who need it?
