Yea, I'll be 30 when I graduate also (if I start next fall)-- 30, 31, fuhhh it. Haha.. I definitely do feel like it would be a waste not to retake though. I got a 161 with guessing 1/3 of the answers to the test, so I know if I just buckle down and learn to skip questions that are giving me issues, instead of spending an ungodly amount of time on them I can do much better.

If I can offer my two cents, you seem to be in almost the exact same boat as I was this time last year

Only you can really decide what's best, but if you're feeling the urge to retake, feel like you can do better with more serious study, and aren't satisfied with your current options, I'd strongly urge you to do the Feb or June LSAT.

Congrats on your acceptance! And thanks for the advice-- I really needed to hear that. It's hard when family doesn't understand how big a difference the school you go to and just a few points on the LSAT makes. I'm waiting to secure employment, so I think once that's done I won't feel as bad about waiting another year.

Got my acceptance today Just waiting for the snail mail now for scholarship info. I do have strong ties to Boulder having grown up here, did my undergrad at CU, left for a while, now am working in Boulder full-time and have another part-time job at CU.

Just got my scholarship offer today 20,000/10,000/10,000

With my numbers (162, 3.6) I am not sure if I am in the position to negotiate at all - plus I am very grateful for what they offered!
My only other strengths would be that I am pursuing Environmental Law and recently moved to Colorado to work for CO Parks and Wildlife in land conservation, so very strong commitment to CO land and CO specific issues.

Just wondering if I were to initiate a conversation how to go about that and if anyone with my similar numbers has negotiated a higher scholarship at CU or anywhere else of similar rank.

Just got offered 40k total (20/10/10), which is genuinely way more than I was expecting (my GPA was a 2.9 and my LSAT was above medians but not spectacular). Genuinely happy with this offer, and Colorado is already cheaper than the other schools I was admitted to and I can live with family rent free, mitigating the cost of room and board.

Looks like I will be a Boulder Buffalo for the class of 2020!

I'd assume the offer comes via snail mail? I'll give it an extra day to get to KS since you're in CO.

Nice offer though! I think for negotiations you'll need to conceivably show that you might consider another option, or offer greater value. The form that takes is unique to the individual, so you may be able to swing your current position into a higher probability that you would increase employment numbers following graduation. Not sure how stingy/receptive they are though!

Congrats! I have been offered about $75,000 at ASU which ranks at #25 (really don't think that's an accurate reflection), but that could be a bargaining point.

Wow. After complaining earlier about not getting a scholarship offer (they explicitly said so in an email!!) I was just offered Full/$10k/$10k. Now I truly have a choice to make with FSU and UF on the table along with these. Colorado is so so enticing.

Nope. If you have any future correspondence i.e. questions, negotiating, etc. - that's when you can show your gratitude (assuming you want to!) You already got the scholarship, you don't have to get on their good side anymore! That being said, if you really want to it won't be a negative or anything.

I think their scholarship structure is actually really great. You can attend your first year and pay no tuition - if its not right for you, you could drop out not having paid a dime in tuition. If you are out of state, you will acquire residency over the course of your first year - so the 10K for the second and third years leaves you paying about 20K (give or take depending on whether tuition has changed). All in all, it ends up being about a 2/3 scholarship. My understanding is that outside of that full/10/10 there are a couple of full rides (like literally 2 or 3) and that is about it.

In addition to what the other poster said, it also saves you upwards of $3,000 in interest (as opposed to giving you a straight 20k/yr) if you debt finance the whole thing, which isn't nothing.

I don't know about the opportunities beyond seeing them mention there are opportunities, but you CANNOT go into law school thinking you'll have anymore than already guaranteed. Anything extra you get for 2l/3l is great, but if you were going to debt finance otherwise, you have to be okay with that.
