Yep - I visited in October. ndirish2010 was kind enough to give me a tour around campus and South Bend. I really enjoyed my time there, and everyone associated with NDLS seems to be exceptionally nice.

My application changed to 11/30, submitted 11/18. Any ideas on what a date change might mean?

I've never been to New Haven but South Bend really felt dead to me for a city with a metro population of over 300,000. IMHO. Thankfully, it is decently close to Chicago.

I like South bend, it's just like any other rust belt city, gotta find the right holes.

Summer. Comments were meant towards South Bend. Loved the campus and the area surrounding the campus. Didn't seem like many fun bars, clubs, restaurants, cafes, etc etc in the downtown area. Overall, there were just very few people out and about and it was a weekend so I was a little disappointed. Maybe 2/10 isn't fair but it was definitely subpar to other college towns I've been in/lived in. I do realize most students leave during the summer so that maybe is the reason it was like this. idk.

yeah I got that it wasnt directed at the campus lol, but yeah I would say its mainly bc summer. I think somewhere around 80-90% of UG students live on campus so most people aren't gunna be here over the summer. there's def some fun places to go during the semester, I would imagine being here sucking over the summer in terms of having stuff to do

I'm just below median LSAT and at 75th for GPA. I didn't write a why ND.

Notre Dame has been more on my mind lately, and I'm nervous about not submitting the optional. Would it be advisable to submit one now after the fact, or does that seem desperate/too little too late?

It would probably make sense if i was WL and then tried to express continued interest by submitting a "Why ND", but unsure how it would look before being issued a first decision. Thoughts?

Did your status change before that or did it just stay at "Application Complete" with a new date?

I don't remember seeing my status date change before now - previously it said 11/3 and "Under Review" or something like that. I applied on September 1st and feel like I may have had a "Application Complete" status in September.

Also, looking through previous threads, it seems that the first wave of "Decision Made" status changes on 12/8 did not show seat deposit info on the status checker, whereas seat deposit info does show on the status checker if admitted in later waves of decisions. I say this because I see no seat deposit info on my status checker right now... trying to remain optimistic.

Okay thanks. I'm sure you'll get a nice fat envelope in the mail with accepted embossed in gold.
