I'm not sure how feasible it is, (and I know how much these forums love to say this) but you should really consider retaking the LSAT. Take full advantage of your high GPA, if nothing else it would help a lot with scholarship money if/when you get acceptedFOBsoFLY wrote:LSAT < 25th93tillinfinity wrote:Do you mind sharing your stats? Waitlisted.
LSAT > 75th

This was suppose to be one of my "safe" schools.

Ya, I think it'd be a good idea. About to send in my RSVP, just debating on taking my gf or not. You??knowcompinc wrote:Is anyone going to attend the ASD on April 8th?

Thoughts on the upcoming 2017 USNR rankings coming out next week? Specifically regarding UC Hastings, Loyola & Pepperdine (if anyone has read up on the changes).

I'm in Vegas right now until end of July, so I was thinking about just driving out there and staying at a hotel for a night or two. If I go I am going solo, but I've already put my deposit in, and am planning to attend regardless.oldernbolder wrote:Ya, I think it'd be a good idea. Isn't there a week-long orientation for 1L? Anyone know the details on this or anyone have specifics on it?

The drop in rankings was not great but amongst TT schools going up or down 10 spots might just be year over year fluctuation, It was still tied for highest with other schools I applied to Loyola(WL), and Seton Hall(accepted/ withdrew) so I feel better about that.andradeb wrote:Thoughts on the upcoming 2017 USNR rankings coming out next week? I did not apply to Hastings, but I am concerned with the amount of students who transfer out every year, it seems that people can't wait to bail.
Also I seem to like what I read and hear about the learning environment at Pepperdine.

Re: Pepperdine c/o 2019
I saw something about a mandatory orientation in August. Probably won't have snacks and coffee for us like they might have for the ASD. I'll PM you my info if you wanted to touch base and you're able to make it down. I'm in Mar Vista, which is not too far a drive from campus.knowcompinc wrote:I'm in Vegas right now until end of July, so I was thinking about just driving out there and staying at a hotel for a night or two. In, got the email yesterday. Scholarship info included with the email, decent amount, enough to keep Pepperdine in play for me. I'll probably try to make it for ASD. PM if you have any questions about numbers.

What does everyone think about that drastic drop in ranking; down 13 points to 65?

After an unsolicited scholarship bump, I was actually considering Pepperdine but with this drastic drop I'll likely be withdrawing.LShopeful2016 wrote:What does everyone think about that drastic drop in ranking; down 13 points to 65?

These rankings are almost entirely worthless. They tell you virtually nothing of value and they probably do more harm than good. The schools in this zone of the rankings bounce around a lot from year to year. Is Pepperdine suddenly a 20% worse law school than it was the year before? Of course not. It's the same school.LShopeful2016 wrote:What does everyone think about that drastic drop in ranking; down 13 points to 65?
By the way, the same is true of the ranking of students once you're in law school. Fractions of a grade point, reflective of a question or two on an exam, will separate you from your classmates by 20 places in the rankings. But that doesn't mean one student is 10% or 20% smarter than other students. It's really hard when you're staring at these rankings to ignore them, but they really are more damaging than helpful.

The Master's in Dispute Resolution. You have to take a summer session in order to complete it by graduation. At least that's how I think it works.knowcompinc wrote:What's MDR?oldernbolder wrote:It's being tied with LMU that makes it tough. Think it happened a couple years back as well. I heard about this from a friend who graduated a while back. It would have been great to see him speak even if I would have disagreed with some of the things he had to say. Maybe they figured space would be limited and decided not to distro admitted students?
Don't mean to be captain obvious but don't forget to fill out the online form with your intention to attend. I made the deposit a while back and totally forgot to do the other.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
