Kind of along the same lines as ^^
Question for either people at Wake now, or if anyone who is applying this cycle who knows: When are the last round of acceptances from the fall generally mailed out? My interview went under review a little while ago, and I keep thinking that it can't be too much longer, cause really, how many times can they look at it. If anyone has seen any indication from previous cycles, would love to hear!

Be patient, they will come. I applied super late and Wake was very quick about sending me my acceptance. I obviously cannot give you a time frame, but you can always call Admissions and ask. They are hands down the best and most approachable admissions office in the country.soccerchick wrote:Kind of along the same lines as ^^

I am one of the interview people who is still under review. I emailed the admissions office this morning and this is the response I received: "Thank you for your continued interest in Wake Law! All of our decisions will be made no later than May 1st - as of today, your file is still under review with the Dean and the Admissions committee." Therefore, that was no help

Thats a bummer. Wake is definitely my top choice of schools, and I'm in this battle between whether to make the effort to visit before I find out, or wait it out until after I hear back from my interview.tarheel123 wrote:I am one of the interview people who is still under review. Any Wake law 2Ls or 3Ls around? How was OCI?
UNC reported 14.4% of 2014 got jobs through OCI and tour lady said 15%, does that sound similar for Wake?
Any benefit from having less in state competition in the class than UNC (for those from and wanting to stay in NC)?
Also, why does Wake have such volatility in its Law School Transparency Employment score? In the most recent data (2014 grads) it's basically even with UNC but seems to seesaw year to year compared to UNC. Either way, I imagine the improvement there in the most recent data could take Wake partially back towards its previous rankings in USNWR.

Does anyone have any experience with scholarship negotiation / know how receptive wake is to potentially increasing an offer? I'm reallllly leaning toward going here but a slight bump up from the offer they gave me would really seal the deal.

Idk what percentage of jobs actually come through OCI, but 10-15% is probably around the right number.HangingAround wrote:Any Wake law 2Ls or 3Ls around? How was OCI?

Not sure why the employment stats are more volatile than UNC over recent years. I think the number of out of state students has something to do with it. The needs of NC's legal market probably do not fluctuate much, so UNC can feed a pretty constant number of students into NC jobs. But at Wake, it's harder to predict whether those 100+ students from out of state will be able to land something in their home market two states away. It's a lot harder to network someplace 500 miles away than it is 50 miles away. Combined with the shaky market, I think that's why it has more ups and downs.
And for anyone hesitant about contacting admissions...

It took me about 1-2 weeks to go to Under Review.

If it helps, they extended my deadline to submit the first deposit so I could fly out and visit.soccerchick wrote:Thats a bummer. Just wanted to say, that Wake is my first choice right now based on the scholarship award they gave me. I'm really looking forward to touring the school and city on admitted students day.

I'm looking for some advice. I got into UNC Chapel Hill today with some scholarship money, but not nearl as much as Wake. What are some thoughts about the UNC v. Wake debate? My family is from the Carolinas, but I grew up in the military, so I'm not super knowledgeable on the differences in the two schools as far as their reputation. Any feedback is appreciated.EasttoWest94 wrote:Just wanted to say, that Wake is my first choice right now based on the scholarship award they gave me. Check the UNC Chapel Hill page. I got some good responses back on there.EliCoe wrote:+1EasttoWest94 wrote:I'm looking for some advice. Dude, I was literally about to post this same question. "No news is good news at this point" is a bold statement, if there's still no guarantee of admission, haha. But hey, I appreciate the thought that came with it!chuck4545 wrote:Did anyone else get an email that basically said, your not in but your not out of the race yet?

Did you all do interviews?? My interview from November has been under review for about 2 weeks now, and I did not receive that email. Not sure if I should take that as a good sign?!chuck4545 wrote:dbwj787 wrote:Dude, I was literally about to post this same question.
