Ok UM, we're getting close to deposit time. An answer would be nice.

I have been in review for almost 2 months, I must have the most fascinating application they ever received.

Initial seat deposit is April 1.

So I take it things aren't looking good for me since I still haven't heard jack since my "in review" 1/19.

I wouldn't worry too much yet. I've been UR since 02/08 with radio silence since; while I applied late, I still assume I'm a likely candidate (in-state, LSAT well above 75, GPA above 25). Seat deposit deadlines are looming, though...

You gotta figure, if seat deposits are do April 1st (assuming that date is firm for everyone not just people admitted earlier), they need to give you some time to make a decision, so with only a few weeks left, I don't know what their game is.

They are honestly slow. I also do not understand the April 1 deadline.

I love Baltimore and do not care that there was a "-1" drop in the rankings, but that deadline literally puts constraints on every other option that I have. Can we write emails about this?

I feel like, if they don't change the deposit date, they are strong arming us. Maybe that's just my angst talking. Feel like an inquiry call might be in order.

Are we sure that the deposit date is April 1st? I know that that's the application deadline so that would mean they're sending out decisions after that date as well so in sure they would adjust the deposit date for people depending on when they were admitted, right?

I agree, because we have about 2 weeks left. Honestly, from what I heard about the past plus this cycle, I just think they are abysmally slow, and there is no way all of their acceptances went out already, so those who are still waiting to be admitted can't possibly be left with a week or two to make a decision. I have no doubt they has to be some sort of extension/alternate date.

I just got the email & I was waitlisted. I'm honestly surprised because I've been accepted to other schools that are much harder to get into. Even more puzzling is this part of the email:
"We hope that you will decide to accept a spot on our waiting list. Please e-mail us at waitlist@law.umaryland.edu to let us know if you will remain on the waiting list, and also, if there is a date by which you must have a final decision from us. If we do not hear back from you by March 1, 2016, we will assume that you no longer wish to be considered for an opening in our incoming class."

Ummmm March 1 was two weeks ago. Good thing I have no desire to stay on their WL.

Definitely! Although it makes me nervous about my chances at the schools I'm still waiting on... I applied 1/15 and went UR 1/21

I applied before and went UR 1/19 and still nothing, although I'm out of state for what that's worth. But based on your email I'm not sure I want to know lol.

For what it's worth, a few people updated on LSN today from UMary, so I guess a batch of decisions are going out today.

I had to check, and yes the status checker is updated now. Its really weird. If I cared more, I'd call them & ask how I'm supposed to send an email 2 weeks ago.
