This is fantastic news for me, does it replace the "academic essay"? Thats the main thing missing from my app.

I talked to admissions today. You can do either/or. See their website. If you already submitted an academic, like me, you can add the personal statement in addition to that.

I don't. But the consensus here is that schools not named Yale rarely do. They care about their numbers and that doesn't hurt their numbers.

They announced it via twitter and it is part of their admissions blog. I think you could go either/or. I'm not sure if they will accept both or not. That might be a question to ask them.

To add to that, it appears the new Dean is doing everything she can to bring the UF admissions team into the industry norms that we experience from the other schools. So, regardless of what they USED to do, I think you're going to see them considering only your highest LSAT, so they can report that to the ABA.

I went to comparative review sometime on Friday. Now the long wait begins, hopefully not too long. I believe if you're 165+ you go straight from initial review to 'decision reached'.

I have a 166 with a completed app sent in and I am under comparative review. GPA of 3.62

Got in today with 50% scholly. I was hoping for a little more thou....

Was also admitted today with 75% scholarship, 30K per year. Was honestly expecting a full ride... Will renegotiate pending December. The dean called and spoke with me about travel reimbursement if I come out for a tour, I'm out of state. All very interesting.

Scholarship increased from 25% to 75% today. Wrote them a letter a couple weeks ago asking they reconsider my award because a 3.0 from a service academy is a lot different than a 3.0 from a state school. Glad it worked out. Now just have to hope the Air Force lets me go to law school.
