also, CHECKING IN. Good luck to everyone this cycle. OOS (although not far; Oklahoma!) and UT is my top choice. Absolutely love the city and all that I have heard from friends and family that have attended UT for Ug and/or Law school. Looking forward to applying!

Checking in! Planning to submit tomorrow or Tuesday. Texas is probably my number one choice, but I'm a splitter (3.1, 172, in-state), so I know my chances aren't great.
Anyone else not including any sort of "Why Texas?" in their app? Thinking about whether I should work it into my PS but I don't want it to sound forced.

That's awesome! Good luck! And FWIW, I included a brief paragraph specific to why I wanted to attend Texas in my PS (in-state applicant to). Can't say if it helped, but I also don't think it could've really hurt.Mrs Featherbottom wrote:Anyone else not including any sort of "Why Texas?" in their app? Thanks! I think I'll spend some time on it tonight to see if I can work something in that doesn't sound like it was tacked on at the last minute (which admittedly is sort of what I'm doing).rnoodles22 wrote:That's awesome! My advice is to not overthink it. I think I spent like a total of 15 or 20 minutes on that part of the PS, and even that felt like it was too long.Mrs Featherbottom wrote:Thanks! Re: University of Texas c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I can confidently say that Texas is my number one choice. I am having trouble deciding which route to take however. I have a 3.64 GPA and a 164 LSAT. As an OOS non-URM is the better option applying ED or waiting for the results of a December retake?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

Wait on the December retake. You are below both medians. 167 and you have a good shot.nlytle wrote:I can confidently say that Texas is my number one choice. Retake. ED won't give you a boost if that's what you're looking for. If for the scholly, get your higher score and you'll get some moneynlytle wrote:I can confidently say that Texas is my number one choice. I am having trouble deciding which route to take however. Withdraw that ED application! Unless they offer more scholarship with it now this year or something you're shooting yourself in the foot by applying ED.gaboon13 wrote:App submitted 10/31. ED. Non-URM male. Texas Resident. 167/3.68.

From my observation they seem to be pretty stingy unless you are well above their 75% marks.scollop wrote:Anyone know how generous UT is with scholarship money?

Re: University of Texas c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I've got an online application checker now, but just had a weird interaction setting up my account I thought I'd mention in case anyone else runs into the same problem.
When you receive your log on information, the first thing you have to do is change your password, entering the temporary password you were given and then your new one. I was using Firefox, and was copying and pasting my temporary password from the email, but was receiving some an error message about Invalid EID/password combination. I kept trying different passwords without any luck. So I switched browsers and manually typed in my temporary password, which worked and allowed me through. I don't know which one was the actual solution, but my wager is that you need to manually type in your password.
