Tried to negotiate and was shot down. Was told they MAY re-evaluate scholarship matrices in the summer, which doesn't help my decision. Thus, I will be withdrawing. Best of luck to everyone on the wait list!
I got the same reply, really wish they had given me a better answer. They won't let me skip the first deadline either, going to withdraw.

I know this is a little sensitive, but would any of you mind sharing what kinds of offers from other schools you sent them when trying to negotiate $? They offered me the least of anyone which I found a bit surprising...I'm still potentially really interested in going but they would have to come up in their amount considering they have the second highest COA of all the schools I'm considering at this point. I'm planning on going to their ASD this Friday but may be making a change if it sounds like they won't be budging on that front. Even any hints as to what you all were working with would help give me an idea...PM me if any of you prefer? Any tips help. Thanks!

What was the reason you gave them for wanting to push back your deposit date if you don't mind me asking?

I looked back at prior years and there isn't much information about scholarship increases on an individual basis so even with a extension on the date, who knows if they will even budge on scholarships. It's really hard to turn down a better scholarship offer from a higher ranked school in CA so let's hope this year is different!

do we need to formally withdraw? (for pepperdine and other schools) or is not submitting the first deposit effectively withdrawing?

Currently I am considering Loyola or UCLA if I get off of their wait list which I will ride out. I would consider Pepperdine if they would come somewhat close to the offer I have from Loyola. I get the impression that Pepperdine will not negotiate at all. There is ~65k difference between Pep and Loyola for me. Pep also has a 50% or above stipulation vs 75% for Loyola.

Others definitely know more but I think if you definitely know you won't attend you should let the school know. You will open up a spot for someone who really wants to attend. But if there is any chance you might attend and you are waiting for other schools to answer I would wait until the deadline.

Also, not sure if this is relevant to anyone still out there but Pepperdine offered to increase my scholarship $5k/year yesterday. Looks like they may be more flexible now that applicants with offers are withdrawing and more money is becoming available.

Same here. I had even declined my offer already. I emailed them back mentioning my other scholarship offers and am hoping they'll raise my scholarship a bit more.
Who did the offer come from over there? I tried to contact them a few days ago but have not yet heard back...

I was basically shot down and as it stands they are WAY lower than other schools I'm considering at this point...

I figured I might as well try and reached out. They are still evaluating based on the matrix, and don't offer any one-off scholarship boosts or scholarship matching. Any bumps would be for all students in that group.

I applied on Jan 31 and still have not heard anything... is anyone still waiting? I know I was near the deadline and due to my procrastination it has killed my prospects of getting in to higher tiered schools but at this point Im just looking for an acceptance. I want to be in SoCal so im hoping Pepperdine says yes sometime next week.

That is when I applied as well but I heard back on 3/10. I didn't realized Pepperdine was one of the places that kept people waiting so long! I'd reach out and ask if you haven't already...I know I'm still waiting on four schools to make any kind of decision so I feel your pain. It's so hard to try and make any decisions when you don't have all the pieces to the puzzle!

Anyone had any luck, or heard anything about them re evaluating the matrix yet? I emailed last week and they said they were anticipating one this week

Finally got accepted yesterday with $25k/year, but I already made a decision and will be withdrawing. Best of luck!

Withdrew last week but they just sent me a second scholarship increase email doubling my original award and asked me to reconsider.
