So since my LSAC GPA sucks, question for those who have already applied. On the applications where it asks for GPA if it doesn't say LSAC can we put our UG/Major GPA? Mine was A LOT better.

Also - anyone going to the Open House next month?
I didn't put one down I just let them use the transcripts since my lsac was weird having 2 different schools. I had a really low gpa too and got it in so just grind on the LSAT.

I have 2 different schools, too, and I retook a few classes for higher grades so that brought my GPA down too. I have a 3.22 UG/Major GPA but my LSAC GPA is 2.66. Ouch.

Checking in! Got a call from the Dean yesterday to notify me of my acceptance! Said scholarships won't be decided until early December but that I should be receiving 'a nice big holiday surprise.' wink wink

Someone earlier in the thread said they were retaking the lsat last month and they got in before they took the september LSAT. Can't hurt to apply - worst comes to worst they just wait until your December score comes out
Yeah but they had a 157. I'll try anyways. Do you know if Miami allows a GPA that is significantly higher than their 75% to make up for an LSAT that is slightly below their 25%?
I got in before my application was even complete and I had a 158 on my LSAT but a slightly higher GPA than yours. So I think you should take the chance! They definitely seem like they accommodate for lower scores and higher GPAs.

I was admitted a day later after I sent in my application. Received a call from the Dean.

Submitted 9/15
Admitted 9/16 via phone call.

Was not expecting it to be that fast.

Oh my god, THIS. I lived there for a summer and it is just truly one of the worst places ever.

Can I ask why you both hate it? When I visited the campus that seemed like the most convenient location for law students. On top of that, everything is so expensive down there if you lived at red road commons at least you wouldn't need a car...

it's a combination of being like 99% undergrads (which leads to constant destruction of the property, random fire alarms being pulled, spilled beer/urine in the halls, etc.) plus the staff being super unresponsive. most of their residents don't give a fuck and are going to move out after a year anyway, so they don't give a fuck. if they need to do fire alarm tests for an hour in the morning, they're going to do it and refuse to answer the phone when you call to ask how long it's going to take. if you put in a service request, there's a 50/50 chance it'll get taken care of. stuff like that. I can't IMAGINE being a law student and trying to live/sleep/study here

I agree...I was an undergrad at UM and can attest to the fact that Red Road is DISGUSTING. Gables Ponce is a good option. It is also very closeby.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
