For the folks who have been accepted & notified via phone: did the email telling you that your file was complete note that "Admission decisions will be sent through email"?

Yes. The email said, "Admission decisions will be sent through email, so please let us know if your email address changes."

Not really sure where you are getting this. It's the consensus that academic LORs carry significantly more weight. They want to see that you can thrive in an academic environment. Most law schools even flat out state it should come from someone that can attest to your academic work. With the exception of someone who has been out of school for a very long time, then it becomes appropriate for it to come from a supervisor.

Of course there is some informed guesswork re: the relative strength of the letters, but although sure law schools might prefer two academic letters, a second run-of-the-mill letter isn't really doing much work for you. At least from my cycle, the strength of one of my letters from a non-academic employer came up several times. However that employer was legal-related so it might depend on the background of the OP's coach/advisor whether he/she feels its relevant.

I just had a missed call from a 310 number and I called back and got "UCLA information." If this was an acceptance-related call, does anyone know what happens at this point? There was no voicemail (i think my inbox is full ). Would they call back/email maybe?

I was told a letter would be in the mail, so you will probably find out that way.

How long did you guys have to wait between complete and acceptance. I'm getting a little nervous cause I've heard back already from schools that I thought had longer turnarounds but nothing from ucla. I just want an option for law school somewhere without harsh winters.

Nope. Granted, I had to the cut the conversation short because I was pretty busy doing some work-related things when I got the call. The follow up emails I got indicated they would begin making merit based scholarship decisions in january.

I went complete 10/24 as well...my phone died at work today (around noon) and I just turned it back on. I guess I'll never know if they called

Yes same here. I also got a fee waiver. I am very curious as to what this means for my chances of acceptance. My numbers are only 168/3.2 so I am a bit confused.

I don't think this means much other than they want to increase their number of applicants so they can retain a low percentage of admits. It helps their USNWR ranking. Though with those numbers I don't see why you wouldn't have a shot at UCLA!
