Applied RD and went complete on 10/13. Have not seen any movement at all since then.
Well above 75% LSAT, and below 25% GPA.
Is it normal to just sit at complete for this long?.....

Same exact situation as you guys. I emailed them on Friday of last week and they advised that my file was under preliminary review. I'm sure if you call/email they'll update you.

Re: USC c/o 2018 Applicants Thread (2014-2015)
Seeing that they haven't changed any info on their website and that they are basically still "promising" to provide an answer to ED applicants by Dec. 19th, I think it's pointless to continue expecting a mailed decision. At least from reading the posts on here, no one's status has changed to Decision Finalized; I don't really see how they're going to mail out (via regular mail) those letters tomorrow or Thursday and have them delivered all over the USA in one day ... but then again, they could be "lying" with the status checkers/have lazy admins who are behind/technical issues/etc. bullshit, OR they can delay the whole decision process and notify us by a very "polite" email on the 19th at 5 p.m.-ish .... who knows? The possibilities of ruining the holiday season are endless.

It's their first year ever with ED, some kind of experiment gone bad. They will be sending acceptances to regular applicants by the end of the week though.kokoshes wrote:Seeing that they haven't changed any info on their website and that they are basically still "promising" to provide an answer to ED applicants by Dec. 19th, I think it's pointless to continue expecting a mailed decision. They said for ED the decision would be made by Friday though, right? So they could still make a decision Friday and then it doesn't get to us in the mail until next week

Opps! Spoke too fast! Status changed to: Decision Finalized as of 12/16/2014... Mail Description/ Mailing Date is 12/17/2014, which, I guess, is possible since I live in the area. So there we go, a lovely rejection coming my way since I didn't get an email with either a Congrats or a WL.
Good luck you guys! Hoping you have better news waiting for you!

Hmmm... interesting. Well, if that is the case, I guess I still have some hope to cling to (grammar at its best).Dulman wrote:I was told that USC will *not* reject early decision candidates, they just push them to regular decision. Frank Rothman Scholars Application Invitation
Dear __________,
Thank you for submitting your admission application to the University of Southern California (USC) Gould School of Law. Based on your strong academic record, I would like to invite you to apply for the Frank Rothman Scholars Program, our premier scholarship.
The benefits of being a Rothman Scholar are quite extraordinary:
Full-tuition scholarship guaranteed for 3 years (valued at more than $175,000)
$2,000 stipend each year for 3 years
Paid 1L summer fellowship at one of the best law firms - work at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Los Angeles for the summer following the first year of law school
Frank Rothman Scholars are selected entirely on the basis of merit. Selection criteria include strong undergraduate record, LSAT score, and highly significant achievement. Past recipients have gone on to become successful corporate and Public Interest Lawyers, business entrepreneurs, and judicial clerks. To learn more about the Frank Rothman Scholars application process, click here.
Additionally, USC Gould offers other scholarship opportunities to many of our most promising students. Did you know that nearly all students (99%) of the 2014 entering class for USC Gould received some form of aid? And the average scholarship award was $30,000/year! Most importantly, you do not need to do anything to apply for them. Various scholarships will be offered to students which may include:
50%, 75% or full tuition scholarship guaranteed for 3 years
Dedicated faculty mentor to work with you on a one-to-one level
Guaranteed 1L summer placement - companies include entertainment, technology, business firms and public service organizations
Funding to attend an academic related conference or workshop based on your area of interest
Dean or high profile alumni engagement - dinner and salon conversation at the home of the Dean or an alumnus
Don't miss this opportunity! The deadline to apply for the Frank Rothman Scholarship is Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11:59 PST. An essay and resume are required and there is an optional interview video via Live Like. Though optional, historically most candidates submit the video.
