Ingot the same thing from upenn but haven't heard back from NYU. I got a no back from columbia that didn't say anything about cas inquiry waivers.

Columbia said "Should you satisfy the requirements for a merit-based fee waiver, you will be contacted by us directly via email" which seemed to imply CRS

Oh okay, maybe I just didn't read it as closely as you did. My NYU one was weird - I'm almost positive it was a forum response from last cycle since it said that they were no longer sending out fee waivers through CAS since the application deadline was almost here. I emailed them back for clarification but have not heard anything yet.

I just got the email this morning that they received my application (sent 9/2) and the status checker says my application is under review! That seems oddly quick. Normal?

Oh wow- I would check the forums from last year but usually decisions don't come out until early December.

same. seems especially weird since the email said it might take a while to go complete. I'll check out last year's thread later

This is from the "What to expect when you're expecting" thread about NYU:

NYU
Complete
Under Review (a few days)
UR 1 (date change)
UR 2 (date change)
Decision Letter Sent (DLS)
NYU goes from complete to UR quickly. You may not have the same number of UR dates. It appears there is a slight pattern to the UR changes (those who submitted on the 20th then have the 23rd, 29th, and 1st, before DLS on the 10th, etc) but not significant.

Acceptances: Call, but you can try to check the Admitted Students Website to see once you go DLS. This may take till around four or five EST to be up and running. The phone call can take a few days.
Area Code: 212 or 201 (thanks, Bom!) or 646 (thanks, Theopliske8711!)

ETA: This is the process from submission to acceptance/denial.

Lol, I just got the same thing! As long as ##FIRSTNAME cooresponds to a fee waiver for me I couldn't care less what they call me.

It took ten days for them to send an email acknowledging that you submitted an app? That seems like an oddly long time. I was worried something went wrong with mine cuz I submitted on Thursday and still have no email from NYU. Penn and Duke sent confirmations within hours. Although the fact that its under review already...yeah thats pretty quick.

Yeah, I was talking about it being under review so soon. Seems that it's happening to more people than just me though.

It took them 3 days to acknowledge me. Trust me, with your stats they will be throwing cash money at your feet in no time.
