Any guidance on how Vanderbilt does scholarships? Looking at LSN, I'm a little disappointed. They offered $110,000 scholarships to basically anyone with 169/3.8 and nothing else. Is this an LSN anomaly or does this ring true with past performance?

Do you mean why aren't 175/3.9's getting high schollys? Cause Vandy knows these kids going to HYS. 169/3.8 is probably the highest numbers they can reasonably entice to go to their school with a full scholly, since they're not getting gigantic scholarships at T14.Chris McCandless wrote:Any guidance on how Vanderbilt does scholarships? I guess I'm more surprised that they're not throwing more than around 75% at anyone, except for the four full Law Scholars Merit Awards. I would like to see some available $120-150k awards. I really, really like Vanderbilt but I just know it'll come down to COA for me.PeanutsNJam wrote:Do you mean why aren't 175/3.9's getting high schollys? I think their strategy is to offer more $110k awards, rather than have done $110k some $125k, $150k, etc. Don't really know what their reasoning is.

Checking in. Interviewed with a local alumna on 9/9, applied that evening. As everyone else has mentioned the interview was super casual. It just so happens that my interviewer graduated this spring, so she was able to provide me with a lot of up to date information and let me bounce ideas and questions off of her. I haven't seen any acceptances here or on LSN, so I'm assuming Vandy is one of the ones we'll be doing some waiting on.

Woo, that makes me feel better! Even if I'm not in the first round to hear back, it's nice to know things are moving along.

I have my alum interview later this week. I think he is a bit older so I'm guessing it may not be as casual. Any tips/what to expect?

I interviewed with a recent alum last cycle and with one who graduated in '91 this cycle. The younger was definitely more chill, but I felt more comfortable this cycle because a) it felt more like an interview and b) the attorney had a fuller understanding of law school and the industry, so picking her brain was more enlightening.hillz wrote:I have my alum interview later this week. I interviewed like 2 weeks ago with an older alum- probably like early 50s, partner at his firm. We met at a local sports bar so the whole thing was extremely chill. He did most of the talking, mostly about the law profession in general and then we talked about why I want to go to Vandy and where else I was looking. I'm not sure he 100% knew what the interview was for though because he asked me if I was already accepted... Overall it went well though.hillz wrote:I have my alum interview later this week. My interview was in the interviewers office. I loved it, everything we talked about was exactly what I was interested in, and I even learned some things. I'm really excited to hear back from Vandy because of how well the interview went.

I had the same response. For reference I'm a 3.7/166. Hoping a fee waiver comes in soon.

I'm 3.5/168 so really confused why I haven't gotten one based on the responses I've gotten here and via PMwarby93 wrote:167, 3.6, Notre Dame (if that's relevant)hearsay77 wrote:for those who got fee waivers, what were your stats? really hoping for one and haven't gotten anything yet. i solicited last week and they told me to wait for CRS.

My application went complete October 6th. The most recent change on my status checker is "viewbook mailed" on 10/21 which I received in the mail today. Is it a good sign that they sent the viewbook or is this a way for them to break it easy to me that I'm gonna be denied?

Completely standard procedure. It's a way to sell you on the school. Don't stress!calvinwidget wrote:My application went complete October 6th. Weird, mine never changed to that but I received one last week. I was excited to get that packet only to be disappointed by a viewbook.HRomanus wrote:Completely standard procedure.
