Checking in. Admitted back in December. Love the Denver area and have been impressed with how the law school is getting better and better. This is one of my top choices. Anyone else have DU in their top 3 or 4?

They said they'll pay for 2 nights in the Sheraton Downtown Denver. Pretty nice hotel. They said to let them know as soon as possible so they can make the reservation.

I sent mine to the email of the asst. dean who sent my acceptance email since the email said "if you have questions, please feel free to contact me." Dean Davis, I believe.

Applied 1/3, accepted 1/24 via email. No mention of $$ but I am below both medians so I doubt I will get any. I spent a decent portion of my childhood in Denver so I am still considering the offer.

I know at least a few people said they went from complete straight to decision so you may already be under review. Good luck!

I went from complete to accepted, but it took about a month. I think you're a little ahead on this anxiety level.

I'm not bringing a guest. I honestly don't see the point. I am going to law school, not any of my friends/family. This is my decision.

Because some people have an SO who may have a vested interest in their partner's future? Or they don't feel like going to what is basically just a fancy lunch on their own?

Bingo. My husband is coming with me mostly for the financial aid panel...seeing as he will be paying the mortgage/bills while I'm in school he should get to hear all the details...and get the free food perk as well.

No worries...everyone does have to make the decision for themselves in the end and for a lot of people there is no reason for anyone to come with them. I was just explaining why in my case it does make sense.

Haha yeah, bringing the parents can be a tad strange, I agree. I didn't mean to sound offended or something. I, personally, might bring an SO, but it's first and foremost a possible introduction to professors and other students you may be spending the next three years with. It's a good time to get out of your shell.

Has anyone had any luck negotiating scholarship $$$? I received a $28,000 scholarship yesterday. Also, the tuition is $40,000, correct? One page I thought said $33,000 but that may be for the Environmental Graduate Program (it's listed under the Law School Website -- a bit confusing).

I am interested in this as well. I noticed on the "Scholarship Negotiation Works!!!" large thread that someone in 08/09 mentioned that Denver doesn't negotiate.....Perhaps this has changed?

Hey 1L here,

On the scholarship thing w/ Denver. If they give you one initially thats in they do not budge at all, if you tell them about others they reply congratulations.

Negotiation at DU doesn't work.
