I'm getting incredibly discouraged. I submitted my app in November and went U.R. on December 12, 2013. No movement since then... absolutley nothing!! I called and they told me that they havent made a decision and that I should continue to check my status update (like I don't already obssessively...cough...). But, April 1 is approaching and I have to pay my seat to another school on that date if I dont hear back. What do I do??!!??

From past cycles I would say there is a fairly good chance you won't hear by then. How high is ASU on your list?ASUPHI2LAW wrote:I'm getting incredibly discouraged. This is exactly what I'm worried about. Granted, my application didn't even go under review until February 21st, but don't they realize that most schools require seat deposits? They're losing potential students by not making decisions.
How can they expect us to wait around for a decision when the majority of us are being offered scholarship offers already at different schools?

I also don't believe it to be a wise practice but I am inclined to believe that ASU is simply willing to take the risk. It is ridiculous.

ASU is right next to the other school I've been admitted to. Theres a very good chance I'd go to ASU if they get back to me before April 1, 2014- I don't have the money to pay seat deposits and then go back on them just to pay another... Their loss I suppose..gaud wrote:From past cycles I would say there is a fairly good chance you won't hear by then. How high is ASU on your list?ASUPHI2LAW wrote:I'm getting incredibly discouraged. I've had a few experiences with ASU. I lived in their honors dorms while I was doing TFA Institute in Phoenix and I have a masters in education from there. In my experience, they have been HORRIBLY inefficient in absolutely everything they do.

I'm starting to think that you're right... I have a few ideas in mind regarding what they might be doing and it all points to us being 'held' for some reason. When I called a few weeks back, the lady told me that the 'round of applications' that included my application recieved decisions, so she was confused as to why I hadn't. She put me on hold to check and when she came back on, she said, 'Oh, well, it seems as though the committee hasn't make a decision yet. Keep checking your status checker!'
I'm getting very frustrated!
I'm finishing up my undergrad at ASU right now and I couldn't agree more...

How long should we wait to be under review before we call? ASU was my top choice for multiple reasons (ranking, in-state, don't have to move, etc). but now I don't even care about the ranking or tuition! It's getting to the point that if I get in it'll probably only be because I won't have to move. Although out of state schools are offering nice scholarships....might not be able to turn those down, even if ASU is higher ranked.ASUPHI2LAW wrote:I'm starting to think that you're right... I'm on the other side of things. I am building a slight hatred for how slow/ stupid this school functions in things... I'm not sure if I'll go anymore. I feel the same way. George Washington is looking more and more appealing.

"Application Complete-- Released for Review" since 1/22 with no movement at all. I'm hoping they will make a decision before April 1st because I don't have all this money to throw around on seat deposits.

I would understand a school like Harvard, Yale, Stanford etc waiting a long time to give out acceptances. If you get accepted to one of those most people would drop everything to go.
ASU?

3.2 168 full tuition offer, most generous I've received. I want to go to utah but they will cost me 8900 a year. They also "don't match scholarships" lol what a joke. Asu is looking better and better.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
