ETA: I think they mean it when they say "truly optional." The diversity statement option seemed more encouraged.

Anyone know if everyone should be getting these status date changes? I'm 2 weeks into their 3 week ED and nothing has ever changed on my acct.

Looks like some people heard back in October last year, but that could be only ED folks.

Looks like some people heard back in October last year, but that could be only ED folks.

ED applicants always hear back early, but some regular applicants also hear back as soon as late October. They start to really pick up in late November/December and most people get in during Winter.

FWIW, I attended the interview session in New York yesterday and Dean Cornblatt said that decisions for those who attended would be coming "very, very shortly". Not sure what this means for the general applicant pool, but figured I'd share.

Thank you for sharing! I went complete a couple weeks ago, another complete date the day after the interview, and another complete date today. IIRC the next update will mean I have a decision?!? I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times, but it's usually initial complete, then 3 updates after that, right?

Anyone else in the 2nd update 10/15 boat with me?

Last year I didn't get an interview and I got 3 updates before my decision (WL) and I think that was the case for everyone on TLS who was keeping track of updates.

Got my third update yesterday to coincide with an alumni interview request. I think the 2nd update had to do with the on campus interview invite (that I couldn't attend).

Just received group interview invite in DC. Heard from friend who got in last year that he got accepted 2 or 3 days after the interview. Starting to feel my palms sweat.

Did GULC stick to the three week deadline for responses for ED applicants? I received my first status change 10/2 after going complete on 10/1 but haven't been invited to interview as I don't live in the area.

Ditto! I live in DC so my letter didn't have far to travel. I swear I only remember my status changing twice since the initial but maybe I'm wrong.
