i feel like you should be good too. UF is actually my number 1 choice so its just nerve racking to wait lol but i would think we both get in before its all over

I'm wondering this as well. I've already been accepted to several of their main competitors: FSU $$, UGA $$, and Vandy. I'm not trying to be arrogant, but they're not doing themselves any favors with the special academic statement, lack of fee waivers, and slow time frame for people above both 75ths.

I got an email from UF Law today and almost had a heart attack. Turns out it is a "Prospective Student Newsletter Issue #1". Did anybody else get this?

I have been "Initial Review" since 11/19 and constantly checking the status checker.

Yeah I got the same email and got really excited for a minute. I have been in comparative review since the 14th. Hoping this week ill hear something. Good luck Everyone!

I would not get excited about an email. UF mails acceptances through snail mail. If you get an email, you didn't get in... Hence the reason for the near heart attack.

Can you just share a general feel of the school? Things you wish you would have known while determining if this is the right school?

Sure, sorry for the late response.

I think the general feel of the school is a very social atmosphere. Everyone seems to get along for the most part and I didn't find it difficult to make a lot of friends despite being somewhat of a homebody. There are a ton of events every day on and off campus.

I can't really think of too much I wish I would have known. I am sad that Dean Jerry is leaving at the end of this year but I don't think knowing that would have changed my decision. I also didn't know we would have this awful Introduction to Lawyering class in the Fall but at least we got it out of the way early.

Generally, what is the threshold for scholarships at UF? My numbers may sneak me into the T14, but I am from Gainesville and lifelong gator fan and will have a hard time saying no to low tuition and home.

A few people will get a full ride offer of $72,000 (if you are in state). Most of them have 172+ 3.5+ A few people will also get $55,000 offers.

The majority of scholarships are either $48k, $39k, or $36k. If you are 163+ and 3.4+ you should have a good shot at at least $36k.

I'm still waiting for a decision from UF, but I know from experience with other schools that when they say they will send something via "snail mail", it literally takes three times longer than normal mail should.
