That's only like 10 days, most schools wait til sometime in November before even releasing any decisions, definitely way too soon.
Sorry, by "heard back" I meant not even an email or anything to confirm that they received my app, thanks for applying, blah blah blah. People earlier in the thread were talking about interview requests and I've received a confirmation email from every other school I applied to with no action from me (within 24 hours for most), which is why I'm a little concerned.
You could call/email them to follow-up if you're worried about whether they got your application at all, but usually that's never a problem. Did you get a confirmation email from LSAC when you submitted your app? If you submitted directly through the WashU page then it might be different...they didn't have that when i applied.

A lot of the movement in law school admissions happens in waves. Sometimes you're sorted chronologically, sometimes based on your credentials. Usually it's by a mixture of both. But don't worry too much if other applicants get correspondence at different times than you.

I'll probably do that. I applied early for a reason and don't want to run the risk of it slipping through somehow...hopefully it won't annoy them too much.

I had an interview earlier this week, after which the lady I spoke to kinda made it sound as though I will be admitted (expect some good news very soon) and now my status reads:

"A decision has been made by the Scholarship Committee. We do not post scholardhip decisions on the status check page. Your scholarship letter will be emailed to you at your primary email address."

I didn't get an email yet or even an acceptance for that matter. Does this mean I got in?

Thanks!

I got the interview request last Friday. I scheduled it for a week and a half out, and one week later than the first available date. Hopefully this won't give the interviewer the impression that I'm not prepared or that it's not a priority. But I would like to get more prepared, want to make a good impression.

Relax, I got the request on the 22nd of September and scheduled it for the 8th. The interview was pretty straightforward overall, mostly a summary of your application in greater detail. I was accepted the next day through mail

Dolphine, yes, it is a rush, though there's the anxiety, albeit mild, that comes from hoping I don't mess up in some small way that makes a school change it's mind! RT88, congrats!

Edit: RT, saw your earlier post, deleted question.

They generally don't release scholarships until later. My first cycle it was in February, my second cycle they released them in waves from Feb to like April or something.

I know nothing about application anxiety...NOTHING....

As far as the scholarship thing goes, I'm still hopefully they change it this year and release them sooner. It turned off kids last year, Janet Laybold, the scholarship person in the office, is at another school and I think someone said they got a notification about a scholarship letter being sent to them on the status checker, but he hasn't come back with anything.

when I interviewed, the lady told me that they plan on releasing scholarship decisions much earlier this year. I believe she even said by the end of this month. Anyways, my status checker reads that a scholarship decision has been made. I'll post if anything comes via mail in the next few weeks

I was referring to the fact that those numbers are not from last year. They are for the incoming class this year.

Yea, especially if they know they can throw around a lot of money again, they absolutely should, imo.
Agreed, I am hoping for my own sanity and for the school's sake that they are more proactive this year and give people $$$ offers to consider early on rather than in April.

It depends on what impact releasing scholarships early will have...Sure maybe some kids will be locked in early, but there's a good chance that admits use a big WUSTL scholarship to negotiate with other schools and eventually attend a different school. If i'm going to use a scholarship from WashU to negotiate with peer schools or even T14's, i'd rather have it early so I have all winter/spring to negotiate. If I don't get the WashU scholly until like February/March, it gives me significantly less time to negotiate before I have to make a decision.

Obviously the scholly committee will do what it wants/plans, but I for one would rather have 0L's feel a little anxiety for a few months and end up with a stronger 1L class instead of allaying their anxiety early only to have them defect to different schools after they've used WUSTL $$$ to negotiate all winter/spring.

Yes most applicants don't even know that they can negotiate, so this might not be a problem. But for at least my class there were a crapton of TLS lurkers that read the threads on this site and knew that they could negotiate.

Have people received a status checker? I applied almost 2 weeks ago and haven't received anything, not even an email saying they've received my application.

They were slow with mine too....It took them about 3 weeks. I sent them an email about 2.5 weeks after my application to "ensure they received it" and within a couple days after that they sent me a status checker. GL!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
