but I'm just basing that on the interview invites apparently being sequential to when you received a WL notification.

There are some people who got waitlisted early on who didn't get an invite:

I did not get an interview invite. Applied in Septemberish, WLed months ago (December? January? I can't remember).

Unpossible. I was waitlisted in the first wave. But it's ok, you guys go on without me, don't worry about me.

That some people is me and me only it seems. But it's cool.

You aren't alone. My dates are similar to yours. September/October application and a forever ago WL that I pretty much forgot about. And no interview invite.

+1 on that time line! No interview invite either though I am living abroad (international student) so I'm not sure if that makes any difference ...

Complete 12/12/12, WL in late march, just got invited to interview.

Not sure if it's good to be invited early in the waitlist cycle or bad in that they're just trimming the fat.

Methinks it is a good thing. You will definitely stand out among the 100+ that are WL'ed. Go in with confidence.

Has anyone talked to admissions about the waitlist? I'd be interested to hear more from them about how many students are waitlisted, how many spots are left, when this round of interviews will be over, etc. I was on another waitlist that was much more transparent.

+1 that would interest me as well. Someone should call. :-p

It looked like the interview slots were over this week and next week until Thursday, so maybe next Friday???

I think that they'll go through this round of interviews and make some decisions. But if they're interviewing through next thursday, I think next Friday is a little optimistic- they'll need at least a day to decide between all the interviews who they liked/didn't like. So I'm thinking first week in June, at best.

I think it's reasonable to assume they expect they may have a need. Otherwise, they would not be currently conducting interviews for WL'ed applicants.

Overdue check-in here. Here's my UChi cycle so far:

App complete mid-Oct
Interview early Jan
First wave of waitlists (Feb? Mar?)
Re-waitlisted (had to go to UChi website to confirm my intent to stay on waitlist)

Any way we can back into how many interviews they are doing this round from the number of slots available on the scheduling tool that this round of waitlisters used?

I.e., if they invited someone to interview in this WL round, and there was a two week period open with 5 slots a day (assuming one person a slot), we could say there there were 50 people max in this cycle to interview. If all the slots were full, then they got close to 50; if the slots were largely empty, then there may have been fewer people in this group.

It was less than that. I grabbed the first interview slot so I was able to see most of them - it was about 20-25 slots. Most days only had 3 and there were no Wednesday interviews.

No idea how many of those got taken. Since we've had what, 5 reported in this thread? I assume all the rest were filled by non-TLSers.

This was my impression as well - about 25 spots.

I just went and checked the schedule again: 9 interview slots are remaining (and I don't know if all the spots this week were even filled before they were removed from the schedule)
