When anyone gets a confirmation of their admitted student program host, can you post here? Thank you so much!

Yup I got confirmed at the end of last week. (I'm a guy staying Thursday/Friday only, so maybe that made a difference?)

I'm a girl staying Thursday Friday only.

Anyone else, regardless of gender, in the same boat?

I put in the same request (but actually won't be staying Wed night), and still haven't heard either. Glad I'm not the only one. Getting awfully close though...

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't find out until after we check in if the logistics are getting too last-minute. They did assure us in that email that we'd all get housing.

I'm a girl who requested housing for W, Th, F, and have heard nothing from my host. Josie from admissions told me we would all get housing and that our host would contact us by today.

Random but stupid question: Are y'all bringing sleeping bags (if you're staying with a student host), or are you just bringing a pillow?

Gah, I just want my host to contact me, so I can ask her, but I'll just crowd source for now.

My host said to bring a sleeping bag if I had, otherwise they would leave blankets for me. So, perhaps that's the usual?

Also is anyone else taking the train from Grand Central?

Yup! Thursday morning, though. Probably the 6:58 train--the 6:23 train just seems to painful, especially since I've got a west side apartment in NYC, making it a pain to get to Grand Central conveniently.

P.S. I'm happy to travel up there with anyone, but I'll likely spend most of the two-hour trip fast asleep :)

Nope, I'll check with Josie if I don't hear soon.

ETA Josie let me know that I'll hear by sometime today.

Okay, I'll call my admissions liaison (? forgot the exact title) (Barbara / Katherine) tomorrow afternoon if I don't hear anything.

What are people wearing for ASW? Business casual I presume? Is there a suit-and-tie event somewhere in there I'm overlooking?

On an unrelated note, I forgot who it was, but someone else on this thread was inquiring about on-campus housing options. I just heard back from Yale Grad housing office today and got offered a dorm room I had wanted, so if you're still in limbo after a week, I'd check with them. (I applied around mid-night the day application opened, so I might be one of the earlier ones.)

I don't think I'll do business casual. Maybe dressy casual (ie no torn jeans, etc).

But wait, there isn't a business casual event, is there?

If Harvard's ASW is any indication, there's no need for ties or jackets at all.

On a rather unrelated note, anyone here thinking about taking the academic route? There was a TLS post here (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 1&t=154282) some time ago comparing COAP and LIPP for those interested in doing a jd/phd. I have just spoken to FinAid and nothing has changed since that discussion a couple of years ago. Anyone else thinking through this process? Anyone leaning more one way or the other?
I've thought about this too and I'm not really sure what to do about it. I imagine that the reason Yale COAP doesn't cover PhD students is because more of their grads go on to do PhDs. I prefer Yale to Harvard, but this is too big to ignore. Hm...It's definitely something I'll be thinking about for the next couple of weeks, and I intend to seek out current students at the Yale ASW that plan to take a similar path after graduation.

Anyone heard about ASW housing yet?

Domino, Lsacqueen, any others?

Isn't it on a lottery system? I applied for an apartment. Haven't heard anything yet--although the application was a little bit goofy.
I wasn't planning on wearing anything other than casual. Packing stuff in a suitcase with no real means of ironing out wrinkles afterward seems difficult. Of course, I haven't been to an ASW yet, so I have no idea what to expect.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
