Just thought I would contribute to some of the blank fields:
Harvard Deny: E-Mail, Status Checker "Decision Rendered"
UVA Waitlist: E-Mail (encouragingly written), Status Checker "Waitlist"
Penn Waitlist: E-Mail (discouragingly written), Status Checker

Looks like a Michigan ding is snail mail... with no indication on the status checker beforehand.
Horrifying.

I'm pretty sure it's via Status Checker. I mean, it even says on Status checker:dproduct wrote:Looks like a Michigan ding is snail mail... with no indication on the status checker beforehand.![]()

Horrifying.
"Incomplete:
Processing of your application will begin within about 3 to 4 weeks of the time we receive the application from LSAC; during that initial time period, your status will display as "Incomplete" even if nothing is missing from your application. If your status is “Incomplete” more than 5 weeks after you have applied, it is likely that your application is missing one or more of the following items:
Completed application form, including signed certification(s)
Application Fee
List of activities and work experiences
Personal statement
Law school report received from LSAC
Letter of Recommendation
Be assured that if any application materials are missing, we will send you a letter with details regarding missing items. If more than six weeks have passed since you applied and you have not received a letter from us, please feel free to contact us at law.jd.admissions@umich.edu.
Complete:
Your application has been processed by our data-entry staff and submitted for review by our file readers. If your application is shown as “complete” but your LSAC account does not show that we've received your Law School Report, don't be concerned: no application is complete without a Law School Report, so if your status here says “complete,” we definitely have it. The confusion stems from our having a Summer and a Fall term start; we probably requested your report under Summer, while you are probably looking at the LSAC web site under Fall. LSAC requires that we specify only one term, Summer or Fall, when we make a request, but if you have applied for both, you will be considered for both; the LSAC requirement has no bearing on our internal processes.
Early Decision - No Decision:
Your early decision application was not one of the few that we selected for admission. We have, however, rolled your application into our regular-decision applicant pool, and are continuing to consider you as a candidate.
Withdrawn:
You have chosen to withdraw your application.
Waitlist Offer Extended:
You have been offered a spot on our waitlist. If you are interested in beingconsidered on this basis, please complete the Waitlist Response Form and returnit by email, snail mail, or fax within two weeks of the date of the waitlist offer email you received. Click here for detailed Waitlist information.
Waitlisted
Your Waitlist Response Form requesting continued consideration under our waitlist policy has been received.
Admit
Self-explanatory—further information will be provided at the time of decision.
Deny
Self-explanatory—further information will be provided at the time of decision."
Unless i'm mistaken, i think it's initially via Status Checker

That's why I was shocked. But it's now two people who have received the ding before indication on their status checker. It stands at complete when they receive their letter.
ETA: They very well could be anomalies. In any case, it looks like the rejection comes in snail mail form.

Guys, I'm currently abroad right now and will be abroad until March. I don't have access to the phonenumber that all my law schools have on file. Should I email them all and be like, "sorry can't call me?" Or should I have one of my relatives just check my voicemail for me?

Yeah, for me they timed it so that there wasn't a change in my status checker until the day after I got the letter in the mail. Kind of strange that they go to such lengths to orchestrate a rejection.dproduct wrote:That's why I was shocked. They also apparently follow it up with snail mail (because once wasn't enough).zachljones wrote:Yale denial is through e-mail with the subject line reading: Yale Law School--decision.

UC Irvine waitlist is by snail mail...and I think rejections are the same (only acceptances via e-mail).

Does Columbia update their status checker beyond "complete"? Do they have an equivalent of a "decision rendered" status?
