Withdraw your app if you're not interested in attending.JohnMarshall17 wrote:So I've fortunately been accepted at my third choice with money and WUSTL isn't really on my radar anymore. I don't know about that. With that reply you're basically just telling them you're not interested so why not just tell them you're not interested or you've already been accepted at your top choice. You're going to need a better excuse than finals week if you're trying to somewhat keep them interested to see if you can get some money. I suppose you could just pretend it went to your spam inbox? But if you don't want to spend the time interviewing, you should withdraw no?JohnMarshall17 wrote:So I've fortunately been accepted at my third choice with money and WUSTL isn't really on my radar anymore. Are most people choosing Skype or phone? I think I'm going to schedule one for early next week. I originally thought phone would be less pressure -- but it might be nice to have them match a face with a name, right?

I'm literally sitting here with the email open debating phone versus Skype... I can't decide.anteater1 wrote:You doing phone or Skype?Paraflam wrote:I'm down.anteater1 wrote:Anyone interested in a group chat prep for the interviews?

Phone. Skype is too choppy and you don't have to wear clothes.

If you call them you can set up an interview very quickly. It took me about a minute to set one up.anteater1 wrote:You doing phone or Skype?Paraflam wrote:I'm down.anteater1 wrote:Anyone interested in a group chat prep for the interviews?

Have a phone interview friday. Would've preferred Skype, but it's just not an option at work. I'm going to have to sneak off to a coffee shop to do this. Not ideal.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2016
Just got off the phone with WUSTL for my phone interview. She was extremely friendly, very conversational, which was very comforting since I had no idea what I was getting into (no precedent for WUSTL interviews, after all).
She asked about my low GPA (super-splitter), and I didn't offer any excuses, just that I was trying to show through my subsequent work experience that I had grown and exhibited the level of discipline and accountability needed to succeed. We briefly went over my personal statement and resume, but I think it was just to check my pulse to make sure I really was as passionate as I let on in writing. I asked a few questions I had about WUSTL specifically.
But here's the kicker: she offered me unofficial admission on the phone, and promised that an official letter (and more info on the DC clinic, which I had asked about) was forthcoming via e-mail. In at WUSTL! There is no one I don't love right now. Especially in the great city of St. Louis, and especially in the halls of WULS!

Maybe this is a new way they're demoing accepting people? It would certainly be a creative approach. (And also a way of increasing yield, since they wouldn't need to accept anyone so disinterested that they wouldn't interview with them).
I can hope this is true anyway..
