A lot of people live very close to the law school, either in Streeterville or Gold Coast. People live all over the place though, some prefer to live further from the school because it's a lot cheaper to do that. The public transportation is very good, so you can live pretty much where you want.Jredelman15 wrote:Where do the most NU students live?

Checking in! Born and raised in Chicago as well, so NU is one of my top choices.

I'm basically on a weekend-long campus visit right now. Not shabby at all.

Good luck!! I've *heard* it's not too scary, just basic questions about your interests and resume etc.tyler.durden wrote:I've got my off-campus interview today with a partner in a big firm.... kind of nervous, wish me luck!

shifty has heard right. They're not too scary and usually fun. The great thing about NU is, most of it's grads are socially competent, so interviews don't get too weird. Thanks guys, I appreciate the support. Ive been searching and reading every thread I can find about it, and the consensus seems to agree with you both. I'll be happy to get it done and have my app complete so I can begin the long wait for a decision

Just finished my on-campus interview. It wasn't bad at all! There were no real curve balls, so just review your resume and the questions you can find on TLS, and you should be fine!

Great to hear!! About how long was the interview? Also, who interviewed you? Any way of finding out before hand?shntn wrote:Just finished my on-campus interview. It wasn't bad at all! Were you, by chance, sitting in on Bennett's Contracts today from 11-12? Saw someone in a suit trying to look less glazed than the rest of us.shntn wrote:Just finished my on-campus interview. I was the one swearing at her computer and not paying any attention whatsoever. I'm having a bad tech day. (Hard drive crash, and my backup computer is a POS)

Sup bros. Dropping in to troll for NU. How did I miss this thread?
EVERYONE COME TO NU! And don't worry, I waited until the day of to write my first memo assignment, so some of us splitters haven't transformed into gunners like crumps.

Maybe next time.I was the one in the suit awkwardly getting lost on the self-guided tour. :-/rinkrat19 wrote:Were you, by chance, sitting in on Bennett's Contracts today from 11-12? Yeah, I got pretty confused on my first visits. I had to ask where the admissions office was on two separate occasions.shntn wrote:Fair enough. Some of those directions are a bit off.Samara wrote: That description does nothing to narrow you down.

Re: Northwestern Law C/O 2016 (2012-2013 Applicants)
Can someone touch on the B-school "tilt" they supposedly add to their school? I think NU might be a good fit for me. I'm in businessadmin/econ while working at a broker/dealer (stock trading). I've got my series 7 (heavy duty license to trade) and I'm working on getting a second license that will allow me to be a financial advisor.
I want to go to law school because the law fascinates me. I want to learn the law and be able to practice it because it's invaluable. I can't say big law is exactly an aim of mine, but I see they place the most in business & industry in T14... Can someone explain exactly what that means? What's an example of a job in bus&ind?
It may be exactly what I'm looking for!

This thread is primarily for potential students/applicants, not current students. Current students might post here to answer basic questions, but as far as I know it's only been 1Ls (like me) in here so far and you probably want to ask students that have been in school for more than 2 weeks.

How long did it take everyone to have their app go complete? I had my interview on the 5th and still am at application incomplete

Yeah I know it surprised me too. The interviewer must have immediately uploaded his evaluation or something. Anyhow I wouldn't be worried either, I'm sure the speed of mine was not the norm.shntn wrote:Really? I had mine on campus yesterday morning and haven't seen movement yet.
