Absolutely, yes. I'm still below both medians, making NYU a stretch, but now it's just a bit more possible that an acceptance is within reach.NoodleyOne wrote:So anyone else excited about their LSAT median dropping one point? Will be applying after my October score.
I'm a NYU 1L who was eventually accepted even though I was below both medians. Good luck you guys! Wishing everyone here the best.02889 wrote:Absolutely, yes. could you provide the new numbers? i can't seem to find themNoodleyOne wrote:So anyone else excited about their LSAT median dropping one point? Will be applying after my October score.
It might work, but it might not (and if it does work I don't understand the strategy). CLS/UC, if I recall correctly, would have the choice to release you from the ED or not. So they may let you out of it or you may be stuck. Also, why would you withdraw from CLS UC if you get into NYU? Doesn't really make much sense, unless you actually preferred NYU in the first place. In that case, why wouldn't you just ED to NYU.ChampagnePapi wrote:Has anyone thought about EDing CLS/CHI, and RDing NYU, and if you get into NYU before CLS/Chi gets back to you, then maybe withdrawing the app from those places? Would this work or is this against the rules?
Well my thinking is that I am planning to ED to one of CCN. I'd rather get into NYU RD and get potentially some $$ (Although I'd consider going there at sticker as well) but I want to use my ED on CLS and UC because I like those schools better and other things equal I'd rather go to one of them.bernaldiaz wrote:It might work, but it might not (and if it does work I don't understand the strategy). TL;DR- Might work but is sort of ass-backwards
I don't know if it's officially confirmed, but the scuttlebutt is the median is now 171 from 172.comeonletsgo wrote:could you provide the new numbers? i can't seem to find themNoodleyOne wrote:So anyone else excited about their LSAT median dropping one point? yeah, they didn't tell us, but given the drop in the quartiles, we're pretty sure this is the case.NoodleyOne wrote:I don't know if it's officially confirmed, but the scuttlebutt is the median is now 171 from 172.comeonletsgo wrote:could you provide the new numbers? i can't seem to find themNoodleyOne wrote:So anyone else excited about their LSAT median dropping one point? If so, does that mean that they are less likely to admit a 170 this year than last year?NoodleyOne wrote:So anyone else excited about their LSAT median dropping one point? Will be applying after my October score.
LSAT 25th dropped? To what?JamMasterJ wrote:yeah, they didn't tell us, but given the drop in the quartiles, we're pretty sure this is the case.NoodleyOne wrote:I don't know if it's officially confirmed, but the scuttlebutt is the median is now 171 from 172.comeonletsgo wrote:could you provide the new numbers? i can't seem to find themNoodleyOne wrote:So anyone else excited about their LSAT median dropping one point? Also, RE: EDing to CC and switching to RD after getting into N: It was done a least once last cycle to my knowledge. The person didn't seem to have any trouble with it.

I've been wondering about this, too - I'm a 167/176 so will make quite a big difference to me. Why can't we all just take highest score....?JamMasterJ wrote:they probably don't, especially now with decreased LSAT takers and USNWR's continued move away from score averaging.slack_academic wrote:I'm going to write an addendum anyway, but you guys think they're serious about averaging LSAT scores? They almost certainly take the highest score.rocktower3 wrote:I've been wondering about this, too - I'm a 167/176 so will make quite a big difference to me. This. Whatever they say, there's literally ZERO incentive for them to look at anything but the highest score.VUSisterRayVU wrote:They almost certainly take the highest score.rocktower3 wrote:I've been wondering about this, too - I'm a 167/176 so will make quite a big difference to me. I was 166/176 and got money. Though I did get in pretty late.rocktower3 wrote:I've been wondering about this, too - I'm a 167/176 so will make quite a big difference to me. Your late acceptance was, most probably, because of your GPA rather than your first LSAT score. So, your late acceptance is not indicative of them averaging scores.JamMasterJ wrote:I was 166/176 and got money.
