They didn't start last year until early May! Is this a sign of schools feeling the impact of decreased applications...especially in the 170-180 band of applicants???

Hard to say what it means. Sounds like their first scholarship deposit deadline passed and it's time to backfill.

I sent in one sort-of LOCI. I wrote a why Chicago with my application so I just referenced that in my e-mail, like they said to do. And that was it.

I am a little paranoid about stats and such (sorry), but my LSAT score is not very good (sub-170) and my GPA is 3.9+.

I was really not expecting to get in off the waitlist at all, FWIW...

I'm a little worried I outed myself now by posting the e-mail, haha. I just really thought I had no shot at getting in with my LSAT score being as mediocre as it is, so I thought it was a generic e-mail they sent to every waitlister. But if I really have a shot of getting in... Holy shit. Did not expect this in a million years.

Well, shit. I sent one + a transcript. In January. I wasn't planning on sending another until I graduated & started my internship so I had something new. And could remind them of their sad 3.94 GPA 75th.

Maybe our ED apps + LOCI(s) were enough to convince them already....

To add data for anyone trying to figure out a pattern... I also received the email. I had written a Why Chicago, but I did not send a LOCI. I suppose I would be a reverse splitter? I have a below 170 LSAT and a 4.0. And now I am incredibly anxious...
