For those accepted: does "decision letter mailed" show under mailings?

Re: USF 2011-2012 Applicants
In with 20K 1st year scholarship, non-renewable. First NorCal school! Excited to be able to stay in SF.
Anyone have any more info / insights into scholarship process? I see a listing of "named" scholarships here:
http://www.usfca.edu/law/jd/financialai ... ips/merit/
And more "USF" ones here:
http://www.usfca.edu/law/jd/financialai ... ships/usf/
I guess it looks like 1) some people receive scholarships that are automatically renewed all three years, as long as they maintain a certain gpa / rank 2) some people received "up front" money that is guaranteed for their first year, but not renewable.
Are there any options for 2L and 3L years for people with 1st year, non-renewable scholarships? Maybe if you're in the top 10-5%?

Re: USF 2011-2012 Applicants
oh, i wasn't aware that USF had renewable scholarships. I thought they just offer 1L scholarships?
My friend that goes there said that the top 1-5% have guaranteed merit scholarships, ranging from half to full tuition. Also, up to top 20% qualify to apply for 5-10k scholarships, but they are limited.
Of course, there are the scholarships offered by organizations and alumni. But, those are typically limited to specific groups (ie. public interest, minorities, government, first-gen law students, etc.).

Yea, earlier in this thread on Page 2 and 3 you will see a number of people getting in with 20K and 25K / year scholarships. Seems the renewal threshold is around 3.2 GPA each year.skirkland wrote:in with $25K/year scholarship. The GPA stipulation seems a little high to me (top 28%). Did anyone receive a different GPA stipulation?
I wasn't aware they gave out such scholarships and thought they only did 1L non-renewable ones. It would be awesome if there were additional options later on for 2Ls and 3Ls who had a scholarship their first year, but so it goes.
Congrats to everyone who got in, and everyone with scholly $ as well!

Does anyone know if they provide a travel stipend for ASW?

I think my stip was a 2.8 or a 3.0 but not a 3.2.nsnSF wrote:Yea, earlier in this thread on Page 2 and 3 you will see a number of people getting in with 20K and 25K / year scholarships. Got accepted with a 1 year 20k non-renewable schooly/grant. Im kinda disapointed by this since I received 27k per year for UOP and similar scholarships for higher ranked schools.
Im pissed becaus i really wanted to go to USF.

Nice, congrats.JoeMo wrote:

I guess I'm still wondering if there are ways for non-renewable folks to get schollys later on, but I hear it's just top 10% of the class, and even then not guaranteed.
Any money is nice though.

Negotiate. Worst that will happen is they'll say no.nickg123 wrote:Got accepted with a 1 year 20k non-renewable schooly/grant. Im kinda disapointed by this since I received 27k per year for UOP and similar scholarships for higher ranked schools.

Re: USF 2011-2012 Applicants
i asked the dean of admissions whether scholarships were negotiable, he said that at the moment the answer is no. but, he said that there is usually some money that gets spread out after students drop out after the first deposit. so there is some hope for an increase.

Hey everyone, I'd really appreciate a response. I submitted my app about a week ago, and my status still reads "incomplete." Was this the norm for most people or should I suspect there is something wrong with my application? My app is considered complete by now to every other school I applied to. Thanks.

Hey, I applied on 1/11 and I finally went complete on 1/30. I think they just might be a little slow, plus there's probably a lot of apps coming in right now. Good luck!postn0bills wrote:Hey everyone, I'd really appreciate a response. I submitted my app about a week ago, and my status still reads "incomplete."
