Thanks for the response. I was actually awarded $5,000 a year, but it only applies if I don't qualify for residency (which I'm optimistic about). Are you going to KU?lawguyjake wrote:All of my scholarship stuff was through email. My status checker is still sitting at complete, but I got an E-mail this morning congratulating me on my admission. No phone call like others have reported.

Totally overlooked the seat deposit date..
Does anyone know if this is a deadline or suggested date? I'm freaking out.

On the Facebook page it says that they will accept letters postmarked April 16th since the 15th was a Sunday. You might want to give them a call ASAP. Like now.S-IV wrote:Totally overlooked the seat deposit date..Does anyone know if this is a deadline or suggested date? I'm freaking out.

I just called and they'll accept it and be on the look out.
Of all of the schools that I've dealt with, Kansas admissions are the nicest by far.. I'm so lucky.

Applied late (Complete 3/16) and haven't heard anything yet. Although I did get an email this morning reminding me to fill out a FAFSA so I'm eligible for scholarships/grants. Did everyone else get this email? Wondering if it carries any indication (unlikely) about admission--?
As for my stats: 3.6/150 & I'm a Female/minority/legacy student/mother of 2 -- as I'd imagine some of those factors carry a little weight in my app.
Good luck, everyone! My dad is a KU Law Alum (class of 91) and is now a law prof at UNLV Boyd. Hoping to carry out tradition & attend this fall!

Anyone coming off of the waitlist? I have been relegated to it (summer start), and am looking for some hope.

My status on the online checker abruptly changed to "in review" yesterday when I was on the waitlist. Hmmmm. Wondering if I may have an offer coming soon. Has anyone else had this happen?

Wow, that's too bad. I would think your numbers would make you a lock with quite a bit of money.gobuffs10 wrote: Nope. I just got put on the waitlist today. Such a weird cycle for me.

Went and visited KU and Lawrence, and now I have an acceptance off of the wait list!! I am pretty pumped. If you've never been to Lawrence and are trying to decide on whether to go to KU or not - you have to visit. What a great town and the campus is spectacular. KU is now very high on my list, but I am considering other options as well. I have a feeling that I would be paying sticker on out of state tuition for 3 years. This is the one big negative for me at this point.

Withdrew today and opened up some pretty decent scholarship money. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Just got accepted today by email!
I'd been waiting for this acceptance - although I got in at UMKC, KU was definitely my first choice. Looking forward to meeting you all in the fall!

Finally made a decision - KU Law it is for me In-state tuition, generous scholarship, incredibly supportive admissions staff, Lawrence awesomeness, and ROCK CHALK NATION were just too much for me to turn down.
So excited to meet everyone in the fall!

Whew! So I'm not the only person starting in the Fall. The facebook page makes it seem as though everyone is a Summer starter.lawguyjake wrote:Finally made a decision - KU Law it is for me In-state tuition, generous scholarship, incredibly supportive admissions staff, Lawrence awesomeness, and ROCK CHALK NATION were just too much for me to turn down.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that got this impression. I was worried it was just going to be me and...me starting in the fall. See you guys (girls?) in two months. Here's to the time passing extremely slowly -- I'm not too excited for 1L, though I am excited it'll be at KU.northerniowan wrote: Whew! So I'm not the only person starting in the Fall. @Lawguyjake: congrats on picking KU. I picked it for the same reasons.

Ineptimusprime - Thanks! Turning UC Davis down was the hardest thing ever, but KU just makes better sense and gave me a better feeling. I met two summer starters at a bar in Lawrence last week. They were pretty cool.
Where is everyone living? If you haven't figured that out yet, you should hop on it soon. Apartments go really quickly. I think both of you are out-of-towners, right?

Re: University of Kansas Class of 2015 Applicants
Good to hear there are so many non-summer starters on here! After joining the FB group I was starting to get worried that I would be really behind from everyone who started in summer since my husband, two kids & I aren't planning on leaving Vegas until the very end of July & hopefully arriving in Lawrence in the first week of August.
We just got an apartment at Stouffer (University housing). I've heard mixed reviews about the place, but my parents lived there w/my siblings and me when my dad was in law school and I figure we can tough it out for a few years. Can't beat the convenience of living on campus when we'll probably be spending so much time there - right? Anyone else planning on living there?
