UCD undergrad, am sitting on my stupid finished app because no waiver and I am hesitant to spend the money...haha. Ugh. But I know several UCD law students who love it there, and Davis is a great town.

No, otherwise I'd probably be willing to eat the app fee :p. But was one of my top safeties.calilaw wrote:Is Davis one of your top choices?imjustjoking22 wrote:UCD undergrad, am sitting on my stupid finished app because no waiver and I am hesitant to spend the money...haha. I'd just ask for one. Most of my waivers came earlier in the cycle, so if you haven't received one yet it can't hurt to ask.imjustjoking22 wrote:No, otherwise I'd probably be willing to eat the app fee :p. Yeah, it's also getting pretty late in the cycle...calilaw wrote:I'd just ask for one. Most of my waivers came earlier in the cycle, so if you haven't received one yet it can't hurt to ask.

Sometimes you are given a fee waiver without being notified. You have to go all the way to checkout to see. Have you tried that? Just trying to help.

I can't remember if I did that for Davis. Hastings just sent me a waiver yesterday. Haha.doppelganger wrote:imjustjoking22 wrote:No, otherwise I'd probably be willing to eat the app fee :p. I might check by going to the end of the Davis app, I just had mostly decided against staying in CA, which is why I didn't pursue it. My chances of admission now are probably pretty low anyway.

Really? With a 173? I don't buy it.imjustjoking22 wrote:

Davis places a lot of weight on GPA. 25th percentile for this year's admitted students was 3.47 (actually down from the previous year's 3.53). LSAT 173 would certainly help, but it will prove much more useful at other schools.naw wrote:Really? With a 173? I don't buy it.imjustjoking22 wrote:

I've been in review since before Thanksgiving and applied at the end of October. From what I can tell they've sent out very few decisions so far.lrslayer wrote:Just went complete as per an email. what does the wait look like at this point? thanks

Well, I think it goes "complete" to "Eval in progress." And I've been in "eval" forreverr haha. Since like early November, I think. But my numbers may not be as strong as yours, so you may get some movement faster.lrslayer wrote:Just went complete as per an email. what does the wait look like at this point? thanks

Re: UC Davis c/o 2015
As best I can tell, UC Davis offers very limited scholarships and the information on how it is awarded is extremely vague.joetheplumber wrote:Got in, received acceptance letter! Does anybody know how scholarship works, i didn't get any in the letter.
"Scholarships at UC Davis School of Law
Law scholarships for current students are awarded on a competitive basis for academic achievement and, in some cases, financial need. In order to be considered for need-based scholarships, you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by March 2. Scholarship criteria may also include participation in extracurricular activities; specific major; career interests; geographic origin; high school or community college attended; parentage; perseverance; and many other personal characteristics. The majority of UC Davis’ scholarships are not renewable; therefore, students must reapply to be considered for scholarships on an annual basis."
Sounds like you have to apply for them? Hopefully they send some sort of financial aid/scholarship info packet soon. Sadly I think their budget for scholarships is really limited.

Not sure how many scholarships or grants are given out, but between a renewable scholarship and renewable grants, 100% of my tuition is covered. I was notified of the scholarship in the mail with my acceptance (or shortly after, I can't recall), and grants were announced in the spring.

Re: UC Davis c/o 2015
Has anybody else applied for grad housing yet? They say you oughta do it before you know you're admitted, and Davis is my first choice ... but I haven't heard anything back from anybody there. Do they let you know your spot on the waiting list (for housing, that is; I don't plan on hearing whether I'm admitted until the next ice age)?
Speaking of doing things early ... Need Access (due with the FAFSA) is the devil. I'm a grown-ass woman — you don't need to know what my mother's car is worth! Ugh.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
