Are they only handing out admit/deny/WL decisions to the early action applicants, or are they holding some for review w/the regular applicant pool?

If I understand correctly....if your application was in prior to December 1st or 2nd (not sure) you will have a response by the 23rd. If it was after that date, then it is not guaranteed when you'll hear. But, they do have rolling admissions. So, the earlier the application, the earlier the response (in theory).Hibiscus wrote:Are they only handing out admit/deny/WL decisions to the early action applicants, or are they holding some for review w/the regular applicant pool?

I agree, it's just that w/other schools who have early action, sometimes the decision for some applicants is "held for review with the regular applicant pool". I assume this is for borderline applicants who have numbers a little too high to be summarily rejected this early. I was just wondering if that is a potential decision from UA's erly action program.

I was under the impression that you either can get accepted, denied, or waitlisted. I don't think they hold you over for further review. Not completely sure though, so don't quote me on that. I just wish they would update the status checker to keep the guessing games from going any further. Anyone else have any movement or receive a letter?

people get held or deferred like that when they apply to binding early decision programs. Im pretty sure here we'll all either get accepted rejected waitlisted....

+1. I just can't understand why they won't update the status checker. Not like it matters for me, I'm pretty sure I got dinged anyways, with my letter not going out until the 23rd.benito wrote:people get held or deferred like that when they apply to binding early decision programs. I got held for further review at another school's EA program, so I don't think it's out of the question. The adcomm at that institution explained to me that EA constitutes less than 1/3 of the total applicant pool, so some candidates are held for further review until they can better gauge the entire applicant pool. Not sure if thats totally out of the question here or not.

I'm really starting to think 12-19 letters are acceptances and 12-23 letters are wait lists or denials.hadisious wrote:Decision letter mailed 12/19 here as well. Good luck everybody!

I don't know why that would be the case....I guess that could be true but the opposite is just as likely, and the possibility that there is no correlation between the dates and decisions is just as likely a possibility too.

Fair point. I'm just starting to get nervous. Arizona is one of my top couple schools, and I really want to get in there.benito wrote:I don't know why that would be the case....I guess that could be true but the opposite is just as likely, and the possibility that there is no correlation between the dates and decisions is just as likely a possibility too.

I agree with benito. The only thing that playing the guessing game will do is make you crazy.favrefire4 wrote:Fair point. I'm just starting to get nervous. Definitely. People should probably start hearing their decisions in the next day or so, too.

My status went blank pretty early on. But, I still have nothing listed under the "mailings." I, also, am really hoping for U of A. I'm a mom and moving out of state isn't possible for me. I'll be holding my breath until we know.

I'm pretty sure if everything was complete by November something, then they have to let you know something by Dec. 23rd.Lindsey4468 wrote:Blank here too. Nothing under mailings. Went complete Oct 28.

I bet the people whose letters were mailed on 12/19 should be getting some acceptances soon!

It's so weird that they're all going out on different dates, and that mine isn't being sent until the 23rd...
