Were all of your scholarship offers included in the admissions packet, or did they arrive separately?

I wasn't offered anything at Chapman...although I have an offer from a school ranked higher than Chapman. What's the best way to go about negotiating?

I sent an email last night to Chapman trying to negotiate a merit scholarship with almost no luck. They said according to my record I may be eligible for a scholarship between 2,500 and 5,000 need base scholarship. But that won't be determined till April 1. Pretty much meaning I would have to decided and hope I get money. :(

Anyone still waiting to hear on decisions? I got the mailer for the open house this Saturday and was thinking of going to put some face time in. I've been in review since 1/24 (I know, not too long but still anxious).

I haven't gotten an e-mail yet. At this point I don't think I'm going due to other plans.

Same here..seems kind of pointless since I already applied but it may not hurt to meet w/ people if we're still under review. I went to a tour at USD and it was pretty pointless too. A lot of the other people there were "thinking" of going to law school and asking questions about what I already knew.

It is sad to me that none of you will ever have Professor Darmer. She was brilliant, passionate about the law, and a very thoughtful person.

Finally just went into review....

This sucks. There are some schools that have already accepted me but want my deposit(s) before some other schools will have even rendered a decision....

What to do, what to do.

Hoping for a decision soon. Does anyone know if Chapman offers need-based grants, and how much?

I contacted financial aid a while back and they said they do provide need base grants. They also sent me a financial aid packet and it said I may be eligible for 2,000 to 6,000 in need base grants. Not great but not bad either. They said they don't usually start awarding that money until the first week in April. Just in time for you to have to commit before knowing if you will get any money. I wouldn't count on anything spectacular or anything at all for that matter.

Has anyone called the admissions office to check the status of their app? I saw something on their website saying that you could but I'm not sure if that would seem obsessive/annoying. Been in review going on 7 weeks now.

I emailed them last week (Wednesday) and have yet to receive a response. I'm on my 9th week.

Finally seeing some movement via LSN - all waitlists.

At this point I'm not even sure I would attend without a nice scholly since I'd have to give up living rent-free and quit my job to go to this school.

Looking at past cycles it doesn't seem that they mail certain decisions en masse i.e. All WL at once. I'd still really like to hear from them soon. I'm not that concerned with the rankings drop (thought they'd crack top 100 again) as long as their bar passage rate remains high.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
