I'm currently a 1L here at Tech. If you have any questions you can feel free to PM me or just post here and I'll respond. So far I really love it at Tech and am glad I chose to come here over some higher ranked schools I got into.

Do you have any paying work lined up this summer? Any interviews?

1Ls could only apply to NALP firms starting on Dec. 1st. Firms are also going to want to see your grades. So no, I do not have paying work lined up for this summer. I doubt hardly any 1Ls around the country do though at this point (unless it is with a non-NALP firm, but even those are going to want to see your grades unless you have some sort of "in"). I have two interviews with Fed district judges set up over xmas break for whatever that is worth.

In review as of today. For those who've gotten decisions already, how long were you under review? I'm guessing early January at the earliest for me to hear. Tech is probably the only school that could snatch me away from Nebraska, but I'd have to at least get an OOS tuition waiver.

In review today also. Hopefully I am not part of the first round of rejects. Also curious like the last poster to know how long the average person is in review.

You a Nebraska fan? If so howd you like your maiden season in the B10. I wish my Boilermakers had gotten to play them.

Yes, I'm a Nebraska fan, but up until I was accepted a few days ago I was just a casual one:). I'm originally from Nebraska, but my family moved to Idaho when I was young. I really like college football, but I'm a college basketball nut.

I did my UG at Utah State University (just graduated last week), so USU is actually my team right now. Our basketball team, which is usually an annual participant in the NCAA Tournament, is having a down year, whereas our football team will make its first bowl appearance since 1997 this Saturday in the Potato Bowl. Utah State and the city of Logan are in a state of cognitive dissonance as a result of these two inexplicable phenomena.

Hahaha I dont know whats a worse name for a bowl game, Utah State in the Potato Bowl or Purdue in The Little Caesars Pizza Bowl. Im more of a basketball fan as well being from indiana and all. Purdue is having a bit of a rebuilding year in hoops but should still make the tournament.

I submitted my application 10/26, as an Early Decision. I believe everyone applying as ED went complete on 11/11, and my file was in review from 11/11-12/7. My status checker went from "File in Review" to "Decision Made" and I felt my heart drop. The acceptance email and scholarship email came about an hour or two later.

Good luck to everyone still in review!

anyone know if they're reviewing apps this coming week, or are they closed for the holidays? I doubt those of us who just went into review will get a decision until after the break anyway, but still holding out a sliver of hope for an extra christmas present from Texas Tech before the break :).

Over the Thanksgiving Break, they gave us a little update on our status checker suggesting we chill out until after the Thanksgiving Break, because no decisions would be forthcoming. Tech is supercool about the status checker.
I love Tech. I want to go so much, but Lubbock is waayyy out there.

I think so. They sent out decisions last year until the 22nd, which was a Wednesday. I’m hoping this means they will send out decisions until the 22nd this year as well. Plus, they sent out a lot of good news just before Thanksgiving. Maybe they want to make some people very happy for the holidays.. or at least, I hope so.

No decisions from Dec. 21-Jan. 3 per the Tech status checker. Better hope for today then. Who's been in review the longest?

Who's been in review longer than 12/13? Are we the next batch?

I just have no idea when to expect a decision. We've been under review for nearly a month in real-time, yet probably have only about 1-2 weeks worth of actual review time because of the holidays.

Just wanted to say good luck to everybody still waiting for a decision! I'm a 1L at Tech and have slowly but surely been getting grades back (just waiting for one final grade at the moment). If any has any questions please PM me. Good luck with your application cycles!

Also a 1L at Tech. Any questions you may have feel free to ask, perhaps I can provide a different point of view than some of my other classmates. I applied a little later in the cycle (RD) and had to wait until April, right before ASW, until I was accepted. Got scholly money and the top 50% range is pretty standard for keeping your scholly and it really isn't hard. I'm still waiting on 1 more grade but I'm probably sitting in the top ~20% range.

I would say so! You'll probably get an e-mail soon, I got mine about 3 hours after the status checker changed.

Accepted today.

Received acceptance e-mail but no scholarship e-mail. Do they typically come at the same time? I was hoping/am hoping to get the out of state waiver. If I dont get it, do you guys think Id have a chance to negotiate for it with a 3.6/154?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
