I need to work on mine. I did just get the email though, so it's not like I waited until the last minute on purposeEMH99 wrote:Anyone else submit their John Marshall Scholars essay today?

I sent my John Marshall in yesterday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed -- the scholarship would make my decision making very difficult.

Re: University of Richmond c/o 2015 (2011-2012 cycle)
App went in today!!! I got into Richmond last year off the waitlist (157, 3.59). This time I have a 160, but I don't think I'll qualify for any scholarships again.
The school seems to fit me so well, but I don't want to go at sticker. Any hope at consideration for John Marshall or is it only for people at 75th% and above in both categories?

I think the lowest lsat that got the John Marshall (on here) last year was a164 with a GPA >3.5. They were originally an alternate who got picked late.

Is anyone else weighing Richmond with something like W&L that is much higher ranked, but more isolated? What are your considerations?
I'm looking at a $20k/year scholarship from W&L (and possibly better job prospects), but my partner will be coming with me, and I think it would be difficult for her to find work/make a life in Lexington. If I get a John Marshall, Richmond will be a serious consideration, and I'm just not sure what I'll do.

Well crap, that worries me. I sent it to lawadmissions@richmond.edu though. I am guessing that should put it in the right hands...vissidarte27 wrote:I did, a couple of hours after I submitted it. I've been reading a bit about their course offerings and courses of study and I'm getting excited. This could be a good place for me.

Thanks all! I am excited. I have family in and around Richmond and the school seems great. I was caught off guard that she called at 9 but I will take it
And she mentioned that I applied for the John Marshall so that gave me confirmation that they got the essay lol.

Let me ask you guys, if you don't mind responding, how many words were your John Marshall essays. I'm sitting at ~250 words, and I don't have much else to say!

Mine was 400. It was actually kind of difficult to get it to that and I really couldn't get it any longer without sounding redundant.stephinmd wrote:Let me ask you guys, if you don't mind responding, how many words were your John Marshall essays. I feel like I get something in the mail from Richmond every day but am yet to get a decision. Submitted my app on December 1st. Any idea how long they normally take?
