I haven't even heard anything about scholarship stuff from Maryland. Disappointing.
Got accepted 11/28, received an email 12/5 titled "Invitation to Interview for Maryland Carey Law 2012 Leadership Scholars Scholarship Program"
They had dates available this upcoming week and again in January. Maybe you'll hear back before the January dates
That's...depressing for me. Maybe that's what I get for being a splitter

But it greatly decreases my chances of attending....so...yeah.

I've already submitted my app, and I applied to part-time program.
Good luck! I will be applying part-time--waiting on Dec LSAT score and working on my personal statement. Do you mind sharing your stats?
My numbers aren't entirely strong, but I have softs specific to UMD that I believe are helpful.
157/3.5 - LSP puts me at 50%.
Year long internship with MD Congressman, and LOR from colleague and night professor at UMD law. I work for a local mid size firm that heavily recruits out of UMD.
Your numbers are within UMD's range. And, your work experience/softs should make you an even stronger applicant.
I wonder what kind of part-time application volume UMD will receive this year? I believe they reduced their class size from 75 students to 50 students.

Plan of action: Respect the holiday season. Contact admissions via email in early January restating my preference to attend Maryland and ask about timeline for scholarship information.
Happy Holidays everyone

No activity yet, submitted pre-thanksgiving and was in review as of 12/1. Looking at
http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com it appears as if they sometimes offer admission pre-christmas but not guaranteed.
I was admitted to AU this morning, very eager to hear back from UMD.

If it helps anyone waiting...I submitted in November and was accepted in March, above both 75s. Good luck!

I wonder what kind of application volume UMD is getting this year relative to last year? We know the number of lsat takers is down this year but who knows how that'll affect competition at UMD?

Decision Made on 12/22. With the holidays I feel like it will take a while for me to get the letter. I hope it's an acceptance!!

Good Luck! My status checker still says in review since 12/1. Do you mind sharing if you are 1.) URM 2.) LSAT and GPA? 3.) In-State or Out of State? 4.) Date you submitted app and when it went into review?

I don't mind at all! 3.13/166/URM (just updated my fall grades so now it's a 3.21 but I don't think Maryland considered that because....) I submitted my app on 12/9, it was marked complete and in review on 12/16 and they made the decision by 12/22. I'm also out of state.
Now that I've said all of that, I'm not sure what kind of decision they made.

When does Maryland typically send out scholarship notifications (anyone remember from last year)?

lawschoolnumbers from last year seems like March-ish. Most of the profiles with $ say last update 9 months ago....Although that could just be a decision to attend update.

Looking at LSN and responses here I get the sense that UMD (and various other schools) may be holding decision/waitlist/rejection letters back a few weeks. Last year a number of decisions were made prior to the Christmas holiday break for applications that were submitted pre-thanksgiving. This year it doesn't appear as though many decisions followed that pattern.
Has anyone had any recent communication with the adcomm at UMD? If so, did you get a sense of what things look like there (i.e. still reviewing, waiting for more apps, less or more apps than they had last year?).
Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

Submitted application to part-time program last night. Status is "Application Received" as of this morning. Good luck everyone! Wishful thinking for quick and favorable decisions.
