Are you from NOVA? I almost considered GMU because my boyfriend goes there for undergrad but the law school seemed too conservative for me

My numbers weren't good. 153/3.71. I'm guessing my GPA bailed me out. Ecstatic nonetheless!beauTfully_free wrote:When did you go complete and what were your numbers if you dont mind....?THE_U wrote:Same! Congrats!weatherswaysme wrote:In! via email. Nice way to start the day

I'm toying with the notion of William and Mary with a 50% scholarship. Otherwise Stetson is my #2 as of right now. I suppose it depends on scholarships.weatherswaysme wrote:If I don't get in at George Mason or Richmond, i'll most likely be there.beauTfully_free wrote:Just got in at 3:53 pm![]()

I toured Stetson a few weeks ago and attended a criminal law class. I really enjoyed the visit and the general demeanor of the entire faculty. The campus is beautiful and ohh so many miles from any undergraduate campus which gives it a +1 in my book!
Congrats, BeauTfully! I am glad you got your #1

Also, you brought up an important point: no undergrad campus around. I'm sure this has some positives. We're more of a tight knit community because of it. But if you're single it sucks. I have a long-term girlfriend. Otherwise, I would have gone to a law school with an undergrad around. Males and females alike complain that there are really so few options for dating. Something to keep in mind.

It was professor Scully (sp?). She was awesome! I really enjoyed the class.shawty18ga wrote:Who was teaching the crim law class?skirkland wrote:I'm toying with the notion of William and Mary with a 50% scholarship. I'm married and while I'm only 26 I consider myself and "old" person. I don't party, I don't like noise, and I have no interest in crazy frat parties. I'm really looking forward to being part of a small group of focused students.
Does Stetson have Sections, i.e. a group of students who take all of their classes together, or do you have different students in different classes? I think I'd prefer the sections, it seems that it would be beneficial for setting up consistent study groups.

I had Scully for crim law. She's pretty good.
Stetson does have sections for 1Ls. I think there were four of them. And then your research and writing class will be half of your section. I liked having sections. You get to know everybody in your section pretty well by the end of the year.

shawty18ga wrote:I'm a 2L. Cost of living isn't too bad. I live in a pretty nice house about a mile from school (house is nice, neighborhood not so much) for $1100/month. I have a roommate to split it with, so it's not bad. A lot of people live in the Golfview condos right across from school. I lived there last year and my 2/2 unit was $1200/month.seancris wrote:I've been thinking about it since I got a fee waiver. Stetson seems to have a decent alumni base and some regional respect. Does anyone know how cost of living is in the area?
If you want to live on campus it's cheaper. The dorms are super cheap, but have no kitchen. The Rosa apartments that Stetson owns are not bad, and they're cheap.
I can take some other questions if y'all have any. I'm a full scholly+stipend kid if there are any questions about that.
Do you know exactly how much the rosa apartments are? And if they include utilities...?

Accepted at the end of last week, got a large info packet in the mail today. Pretty excited, as this is one of the law schools closest to my hometown in a nearby part of Florida.
I'm a bit concerned about the costs associated with this school, but I hear job prospects are pretty solid in the Tampa Area. Really looking forward to the scholarship information.
My packet made it sound like they could email you an estimate as soon as they received your completed FAFSA.

Waitlisted
I attended the online General Admissions chat session they had the other day. Mr. Kettles said, "WL, not a great place to be, but please stay in touch with me and my office for more information"
So depressing.

Kettles is the man, he is really helpful. Stay in touch with him and you should have a better shot of getting in off the WL. Good luckJamesTJ wrote:Waitlisted![]()

Yep! My husband and I were sitting in the front row.Jessuf wrote:
