Yeah right! Even if they reject me, I think that is frame-able. I will tell my kids about the day I delighted HLS.Cavgirl wrote:Yup! Does anyone know what happens with the phone interviews if you are overseas? I just found out I'll be overseas for most of Nov and I think that's when most of them happen right?

I was wondering the exact same thing. I'm going to be a nomad in Europe until Dec. Not that it really matters because I don't have a shot in hell here, but still.MumofCad wrote:Does anyone know what happens with the phone interviews if you are overseas? JR sends an email several days in advance with some basic info about when the call will be happening and what to expect. I'd imagine you can set up a way for you to call him.MumofCad wrote:Does anyone know what happens with the phone interviews if you are overseas? Ok, 2 days notice I can probably swing something. I will hope that I will not be in rural Iraq without internet access or reliable cell service, in which case, I probably won't get the email anyhow. If I'm in my office, I can Skype or use our switchboard, neither of which is very good quality, but they are do-able.Tiago Splitter wrote:JR sends an email several days in advance with some basic info about when the call will be happening and what to expect. Hmmm.....time might be an issue too. There is almost no chance I'll be able to be in the office during the day in Boston. The time difference is so extreme. My house has a problem with the satellite internet about 50% of the time, thanks to my awesome neighbors that like to run their bomb jammers 24/7 even though there has never been a bombing in our city. I can just see them running their jammers the one night I really need them off. Maybe I'll shoot HLS admissions an email before I head out, just letting them know the date I'll be back and that I might have a hard time with internet or phone communication at points in my trip to be safe.
Sucks for your Eich - I remember the nomadic European days. The last place you want to be is in an internet cafe every day compulsively checking for an email from HLS, but if it comes, I'm sure you won't be complaining (and it will)!

Haha I know! I'm considering buying a little netbook or something to stash in my backpack for the sole purpose of admissions obsessions, but Europe doesn't seem to be into the free wifi thing. I'll miss that about the states. I guess it's shell out 10 Euro for an hour in a smoky cafe with spotty connections, or from what I hear, find a McDonald's for wifi. (Irony: being in Europe partly to do some work in sustainable and ecologically friendly food production and having to go to McDonald's. Ehh...)
But it certainly doesn't sound anywhere near as hardcore as your situation! Thanks for the positive vibes though; My LSAT is in 15 days and all of this regarding Harvard will most likely be an entirely moot point.

Good luck! You'll nail it! You've studied so hard and prepared really well, so you'll be better off than 95% of the people who will be in the room with you at the very least.Eichörnchen wrote:My LSAT is in 15 days and all of this regarding Harvard will most likely be an entirely moot point.

hoping to get this submitted soon, quick question though. i need to include an addendum about something in my application, but i'm not sure where or how to upload it. it's a miscellaneous-type addendum, but they only have attachment slots for a C&F addendum and/or a DS. how should i include my addendum?

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
I'm pretty sure they print the application out to review it, so I don't think it matters where you attach your addendum - they will just see that it is there, not where it was uploaded. So you can use either the C&F or DS attachment slot for your addendum. Good luck on finishing up and submitting!Mista Bojangles wrote:hoping to get this submitted soon, quick question though. i need to include an addendum about something in my application, but i'm not sure where or how to upload it. it's a miscellaneous-type addendum, but they only have attachment slots for a C&F addendum and/or a DS. how should i include my addendum?

Is anyone else having problems with just the Harvard app? When I attempt to update education with a second school, it doesn't save at all.
Also, I filled out my employment and saved it, but it does not show up on the app preview.
I have already contacted LSAC, but I haven't heard back from them yet. Should I contact Harvard? Or do they not have any control over this?

haha just skimmed a couple of pages in this thread because I have a 300 page case to read and would rather put it off...but this year's applicants seem like a good batch of people!
best of luck to you all, and feel free to stalk the past/current HLS threads to get more information about the application process -- or even feel free to pm me if you have a specific question you cannot find the answer to.

I am having the same problem with the Education Information section. It saved my draft responses at one point but now every time I try to change them and press save, my changes aren't saved. Is anyone else having problems with just the Harvard app? I'm also having an issue with the education section. I keep on trying to fill in the academic honors section but it deletes it every time I click save. Hopefully they fix the issue soon.

This would sort of suck to do, but my suggestion to those who had issues based on the fact that many of us did not that had the sections pre-fill is this:
Go fill out another application that is working to add all those sections - education & employment.
Delete your current Harvard app
Start a new Harvard app
See if that pre-fills those forms
Like HP, I didn't have any issues with the Harvard app, but it was pre-filled because I had done other apps. Might be worth a try since the apps really don't take long and it doesn't sound like LSAC is getting around to fixing it. (of course, as soon as you do this, LSAC will fix it)

I actually tried that, but I didnt work out.
Usually when you start a new app, things are filled out but the completion percentage is still at zero right?
When I delete and start a new Harvard app, the percentage goes back to 100.
I did email LSAC on Thursday, and they said they would get some technicians on it. I have not heard back yet.
Should I try to email Harvard admissions? Or do they not have any control over this?

Yeah, I think it should go back to 0. Weird. It must have been a problem that developed, because I checked mine and it is pre-filled with all the correct information but I filled out the 2nd day it was available and submitted 9/15.icedflames wrote:

You could try calling them, but they won't have any control over it. I tried Chicago earlier in this cycle over an issue and they just told me to call LSAC. It was news to them the app was even available. But then about a week later they tweeted to call them with any problems or questions re: the app so ????? I'm not sure.

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
I emailed LSAC about the issues I and a couple of other people seem to be having with the education section of the app. They got back to me and told me that they could see the problem and have passed it onto their Project Development Team to have a look at so hopefully it'll be fixed soon.
This whole issue is so frustrating though. I just want to send in the app so I can stop stressing about it.

If you are still having problems, my advice is to call them. I emailed them on Thursday, and I still haven't heard back from them.
I called them this morning, and it was resolved in under an hour.

You aren't allowed punctuation. Just commas and parentheses. Make it work with those and submit with a grimace.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
