Re: St. Mary's 2011
So who's excited to start school??? I'm sure my optimism will quickly fade, but I've been out of school for a year and I really miss it! Just think, 2014 will be here before we know it. Right...?

Does anyone know if St. Mary's honors LSAC fee waivers?

Ok, I applied for the c/o 2015. Should I start a new thread, or can we just use this one?

Nope, I was admitted for Fall 2011 but I took a year off to retake.

Glad to see someone else who applied on this thread. Seems like a pretty large thread for a couple posts related to the c/o 2015, but it works for me. Good luck!

I don't think most people on TLS are really excited about St. Mary's, but I am. Anyway, this is last year's thread that the original poster recycled for me. By the way, thanks, original poster.

I am excited about St Mary's, I really like San Antonio, but I keep hearing people talk about the areas surrounding the school. Let me know when you hear something about your status, I think I read somewhere that they are not reviewing apps until Nov, but that may have been a different school, I don't remember.

My status checker says a decision has been made and that notification is being sent by surface mail.

Yeah, I hope so. I will probably attend St. Mary's.

I'm sure you will. I got in last semester with a 156/3.53 with 8k per year. Why do you say you'll attend there?sarahmargie wrote:mtyler19 wrote:That was fast! I bet you're insarahmargie wrote:My status checker says a decision has been made and that notification is being sent by surface mail.

Re: St. Mary's c/o 2015
I want to attend St. Mary's. It's a Catholic school, and I've noticed they don't use any of the silly "tricks" a lot of the 4th tier schools use (like offering me a $100 Amazon.com gift card for applying). Also, they have a very high bar passage rate considering how liberal their admissions process is.
The number of course offerings is pretty large.
San Antonio is fantastic, truly a beautiful city. And the cost of living is almost as low as it is in my hometown in South Texas.
Even if I get into some other schools, I have my heart set on St. Mary's. Originally, it was going to be the only school I applied to, but looking at TLS convinced me that it would be stupid to put all my eggs in one basket like that.

Well sounds like a good fit then! I wouldn't worry too much with your numbers!sarahmargie wrote:I want to attend St. Mary's. I have the same message...decision made and decision sent via snail mail. I kind of feel the same way about going to St. Mary's myself, so I hope it turns out well. Where else did you apply, if you don't mind me asking? Just curious b/c with your numbers I would imagine you could go to a lot of good schools in Texas.
Anyhow, good luck to you!

I actually applied to SMU, U of H, UT, Texas Tech, Baylor, and OCU. Still, if St. Mary's gives me any kind of a scholarship offer, I will take it.

Just able to get home and check mail today...still no letter. Considering that I am in Houston and the letter is coming from San Antonio, it seems to be moving pretty slowly. Maybe on Monday since it was a holiday weekend. Keep me posted on when you get yours.sarahmargie wrote:AdrianC wrote:I have the same message...decision made and decision sent via snail mail. !
