Re: Mercer 2011
My boyfriend is a 1L at Mercer and he lives in The Massey Apartments on College St. They are in a historic building but they are really close (like literally across the street from the school) and they are pretty inexpensive ($515 for a 1 bedroom). There are other apartments around this area but if u are deciding on Mercer I definitely recommend the Massey, and the landlord is the nicest person you will ever meet!!!sarhuh wrote:For those admitted, any clue/idea as to where most law students live???

Re: Mercer 2011
After Saturday, I put in my seat deposit and am looking forward to next year. Gonna be a big change from the 70 bars of Athens to the 2 bars of Macon, but I think the lack of nightlife will actually be a blessing in disguise for law school purposes.

Unfortunately the low keyness associated with Macon is not accompanied with a low crime rate. I get to loose the night life of Atlanta but keep the criminals.

I'm about 95% sure I'll pick Mercer. I've got to visit Cumberland and rule it out this weekend....and assume I won't pass second review at Ga State...atlantisdan wrote:I'm definately indjlee4 wrote:i'll definitely be attending in the fall! anyone else sure about their decision??

I visited Cumberland last month, that's all it took for me to eliminate it...Rooney wrote:I'm about 95% sure I'll pick Mercer. How long did it take for ya'll hear back from mercer? My application has been complete since 3/11, trying to get a ball park estimate of how much longer I will be waiting...

It really depends on your file and how it stands out or blends with others. I believe the standard is 4-6 weeks after complete, but maybe less now that it is so late in cycle. I had some schools literally take months.dtown16 wrote:How long did it take for ya'll hear back from mercer? I just visited the campus yesterday on my way back from checking out another school in FL. Not the school for me so I'm submitting my withdrawal from Mercer today.Rooney wrote:Congrats! Have you visited?lsatdalek wrote:Via status checker...I'm in at Mercer.

I hear Orange St and College St are the better places to live. I'll have a roommate too, I just have to drive up there one weekend soon to look at places.djlee4 wrote:congrats! what's everyone's thoughts about living? i'm personally considering the mercer village lofts, or finding a 1L roommate and getting an apartment in north macon. if anyone else is looking for a roommate, message me!

Re: Mercer 2011
I think the Masse Apartments. I'm looking for something as close as possible to the school, and cheap. It seems like it would be kindof like living in a dorm again minus having to abide by campus rules (which sucks).

Looks like I'll be attending Mercer in the fall!
I wanted to choose New York Law, but financially it would have been a very poor choice.
I've started an apartment search, it seems as though the internet is less than helpful. The Broadway Lofts are cool looking, but I drove down there today and they are very isolated. Hopefully I can find something nice within walking distance to school. Anyone else started looking yet?
