How's everyone holding up? Deposits are due in a few weeks, so we could conceivably begin hearing in a month...

It would be hilarious if I heard from Chicago twice before even hearing from NYU once... Yes, hilarious is definitely the right term.

I wish I could forget I was on this waitlist. Unfortunately, Chicago's still one of my top choices. C'est la vie.

I'm starting to be glad that these schools have deadlines for additional materials to be submitted. Chicago knows I want in very badly but I haven't had to spend any time on them since January.

I was actually wondering about this. I sent in my Why Chicago essay, but does the deadline mean no more LOCIs?

I think TLS wisdom gathers that Chicago does not like additional LOCI's, though I could be wrong.

Does Chicago only WL people whom they might actually consider admitting? They're no UVA, but it's still pretty hard to tell from LSN.

Answering this question might determine whether I wait a whole year just to ED to Chicago.

For the record, I hate waitlists also, but if I get in sometime between now and September 1, I'm going.

How are people hanging on this thread? I am literally in a lot of pain having to write the two page why uchicago? Yeah, it is a great school but my why essay will totally be website material since I have not visited school.

Sent out my LOCI today, telling them I would definitely attend if admitted (which is true). Hopefully the deposit deadline today and the 30th will free up some spots.

Posted this to the UChicago 2011 thread as well, but I recevied an email today stating that they would be "extending offers of admission to a small number of students on our waitlist in the near future," and were reexamining my file.

Just wanted to let everyone know it seems there will be movement soon.

It's always possible they plan to discuss applications from WLed people they don't notify as well.
