Re: IN at GW c/o 2014
Just got my packet. Handwritten note "You are an outstanding candidate. I applaud you for your commitment to serving others. I hope you will join us." However, no $$ whatsoever. Has it been confirmed that anyone received a scholarship letter offer in the packet this week?

Has anyone on the west coast gotten their packet yet? I got unsurprising but depressing dings from my top two this week and would really like a pick me up/reminder that someone wants me...

I spoke with the admissions office after an earlier round. They say that money is out and if you didn't get it in your packet you are unlikely to get it later.Flips88 wrote:Just got my packet. They helpfully recommend talking to the financial aid office about the need-based aid they offer.

Re: IN at GW c/o 2014
Well that's discouraging. I have a feeling lots of people will pay sticker at Georgetown over sticker at GW. From what I can gather on LSN, you either get a shitload of money $90k-105k or nothing at all. I don't think this strategy is going to work out for them very well.thelaststraw05 wrote:I spoke with the admissions office after an earlier round. Has anyone accepted last week been able to register for the admitted students site? For some reason it's still not working for me.....

I still can't get into the site.
Also, the Financial Aid booklet says that you may be notified anytime after acceptance about merit-based scholarships. I'm going to call this week to see that this is true (I, too, got no $).

No luck for me either on the Admitted Students site. And nothing in the packet re: money. Still, I'm excited to get in. Haven't made a final decision, but GW is currently at/near the top of my list.garrcv7 wrote:Has anyone accepted last week been able to register for the admitted students site? Anyone know if there is any chance to get a scholarship if it wasnt in the initial packet? GW is my top choice, but it would be nice if they were to make it a little more affordable.

Yea, I mean I was happy/surprised to get in, but I feel the same way (about GPAs being underappreciated in general (3.99)).Gemini Hopeful wrote:Got my packet. No $$, as I thought. What can I expect with a 164? Because the GPA I worked on for four years (3.8+) doesn't matter.

Re: IN at GW c/o 2014
I got in with no $. The info in the packet says that GW does need based scholarships. However, the limit on the need based $ is $16,000 per year (that was my understanding).
Can anyone else who has gotten the packet confirm this? Thanks.

+1 To what pretty much everyone here is saying. recieved my acceptance packet, no $$ (boo, GW!), can't log into ASW. Has anyone spoken to an admissions officer about the website or likelihood of recieving $$ later on? I really like GW, but I would rather pay sticker at Fordham if that is what it comes down to...
Congrats on all the acceptances!

Seems like Fordham suffers from the same problem as GW, only doubly so. While GW only has GULC locally to outcompete it, Fordham has a fistful of t14's. Do you prefer NYC?Tinkerz Belle wrote:+1 To what pretty much everyone here is saying. recieved my acceptance packet, no $$ (boo, GW!), can't log into ASW. Yah but Fordham goes the other way with money- lots of small aid packages.androstan wrote:Seems like Fordham suffers from the same problem as GW, only doubly so. has anyone that got the packet that didn't get in ED received $$$? It just seems weird that they are offering absolutely nothing to so many people.NZA wrote:I got the email on 01/10, and just got the packet via post today. No $$$. 164: Just be happy to have been accepted please. I'm sure you worked hard but frankly the majority of Colleges & Universities out there hand out As like they're free condoms. It's hard to be impressed by a GPA nowadays without first questioning UG quality, strength of major, other time commitments etc. GPAs underappreciated??? Hardly.JennBNYC wrote:Yea, I mean I was happy/surprised to get in, but I feel the same way (about GPAs being underappreciated in general (3.99)).Gemini Hopeful wrote:Got my packet. That aside, what's it gonna take to get in at GW for a late applicant? Above medians, above 75%? I fill no quotas.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
