I've heard decent things about the school as far as T3s are concerned. Seems to place well within the general region.

It's a regional school. Nothing big time. Places "decently" should have been my wording.gothamm wrote:oh really now?joncrooshal wrote:In today. Got an email.

Easy now. This is an application thread, not a thread to discuss job prospects from T3's...gothamm wrote:oh really now?joncrooshal wrote:In today. Got an email.

Re: Quinnipiac 2011
I got in a couple of weeks ago with a 25k award. I got an e-mail today notifying me that I was a finalist for the Dean's Fellow and Faculty Fellow scholarships. Quinnipiac's not high on my list, but if they give me the Dean's Fellow Scholarship they're going to make it hard to say no.

I agree. Got the email today too for the dean's fellow finalists. I think I read somewhere that there's a stipend in addition to the full tuition as well.

In at Quinn! First acceptance (late apps) and not really a shocker, but I guess I'm officially going to law school. So based on others experiences, scholly info should be snail mailed to me this week I'd guess?

Yeah, it will be in the package. Congrats on your first acceptance! However, I'm going to call it and say they offer you a small scholarship, because, well, you have a 171! They know you're not going!MCRemix wrote:In at Quinn! First acceptance (late apps) and not really a shocker, but I guess I'm officially going to law school. Congrats again though, the first acceptance is awesome.

I guess I'd never considered that they'd offer me less based on the 171, I always assumed they'd offer more regardless of whether or not I'd want to actually attend. I'll let you know once I get the letter though!Justathought wrote:

to all the dean's fellows finalists, did you guys actually fill out the application/write an additional essay for the dean's scholarship, or was it automatic?

Re: Quinnipiac 2011
I wrote the additional essay. But i'm a little upset that the interview isn't until April. I feel like that's not enough time to find out if we've been awarded full tuition and make decisions on other schools.

Re: Quinnipiac 2011
Snail mail arrived today, so it only took 3 days after email.
Scholarship:
30K annually, renewable all 3 years.
Stips: Top 50% to keep, 50-75% keeps 1/4 scholarship, bottom 25% gone.
(Note: I didnt apply for the Dean's Fellows scholarship, just merit aid)

Re: Quinnipiac 2011
I got a 20K a year scholarship. Since I am a CT resident, that brings tuition down to about the same as I would be paying at UCONN, where I was also accepted (at UCONN they told me I would be hearing about scholarships next week). I live much closer to QU and was wondering if it is about the same debt load for both schools, should I even think about going to Quinnipiac?

I might. They screwed up and never sent my acceptance letter and just emailed me about only a few interview spots been left open during the march 5th open house. Once the letter finally comes in I will make the decision. If it means I have a chance at full tuition, hell yeah I am going.

Yep, I'm going. They offered me a super awesome scholarship and a lot about the school seems really appealing, so I want to see it for myself.lic06003 wrote:is anyone going to open house on march 5?

Re: Quinnipiac 2011
Well I went to another open house, yesterday, and like half the people there brought parents. I'm of the mindset that this is pretty odd for a professional school; I think college is the last time this is truly appropriate, however most don't seem to agree with me! I say bring your sister, parents, friends, Scottish Terrier, or whatever. I'm betting everyone will be cool with it.lic06003 wrote:I'm going to. Trust me, that def was not the case. I scored 157 and have a sub 3.0 gpa due death in my immediate family. Maybe my addendum was really good.lic06003 wrote:maybe your numbers are really high?gtrwanka wrote:In! I applied last week and got a decision in less than a week. Strange.

On another note, I got something from QU in the mail today. That place looks like a country club, its almost too nice and pretty. I find myself wishing I could go there instead of higher ranked schools. It just doesn't seem practical though given my options. Regardless, I'll be there for the admitted students event on the 5th. I'm fully expecting it to be very impressive, because that's just how Quinnipiac is.
