The Dean didn't say anything about $ to me... Did he to anybody else? Does that come later for Hastings?

Hi everyone!
Congrats admits! I got in via ED on December 14th, got an email around 1 PM, a phone call around 4 PM PST. I was not expecting it all since my LSAT was waaaayyyyy below the median, so I was ecstatic.
Regarding $, the admitted students section on the website says info will be going out in April, but some students will be getting $ info with admission offers.

Ah, so either you get the $ info on the phone when they call you or later in April? Hrm.acucla wrote:Hi everyone!![]()

Really? Aren't we supposed to be making decisions around then? I would hope they would want to offer any money sooner... I should probably just ask, ha.

I also got the call from Natalie. She said she was only calling a limited number of applicants at this time, and she was very vague about the possibility of scholarships. When I asked her about scholarships, she quickly changed the subject to their LRAP program, which is nice, but not what I'm looking for.
Congrats to those accepted and good luck to those waiting.
Look forward to seeing some of you at the accepted students meetings!

And if it's not what you're looking for, why are you still attending? Just wondering.

I'm looking for $$$ to reduce debt; what else?! While I do foresee myself going to PI route, I don't want to have tons of debt on my chest. I am still going to visit the school, again, before I make a decision.Aggiegrad2011 wrote:What are you looking for exactly?clevermoose wrote:I also got the call from Natalie. Hm, yeah I'm feeling the same way. I haven't gotten too much in the way of scholly $ and I was really hoping for a yellow ribbon participating school so I could utilize that fantastic benefit. But alas... =/I'm looking for $$$ to reduce debt; what else?! While I do foresee myself going to PI route, I don't want to have tons of debt on my chest. Well, rock on. I haven't visited Hastings yet but it's high on my list of things to do once this quarter settles down a bit.

I really wouldn't count on getting too much money from Hastings. The most I've ever heard of anyone getting is $10k a year (though perhaps there are a few exceptions who get more, I don't know). Plus our budget is going to get majorly cut by the state - again - so there isn't tons of money to go around. It's definitely not the type of school that entices people with large scholarships. Sorry

I've heard that too. My friend paid sticker at Hastings and decided to forgo the full tuition scholarship she was given at Loyola, and also turned down BU.stonepeep wrote:I really wouldn't count on getting too much money from Hastings. Which, I personally would not have recommended job wise. I know the whole economy is bad, but CA is particularly bad.

Does Hastings give particularly good financial aid packages? The COL is just so expensive in SF!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
